Bought this to try out for some light smd soldering. I have only used it for about 3 hours so far but no issues with the actual tool itself. It works.

The conical end piece finally fell off of the included tip from my Pinecil V1 (lasted for a half/lb roll of solder so not bad) and the included tip on my recent v2 purchase was doa because it never registered it even when inserted so I figured I’d try this B2 tip and see how it preforms with pinecil.Surprisingly well, is it what I’ve discovered. Thermally regulates within 4deg (displayed, at least) and stays quite stable during soldering. While soldering a few somewhat beefy pads, the iron didn’t struggle to regain temp as much after initial contact with this larger BC2 tip, I’d highly recommend it. It seems to carry more thermal mass into the initial part of soldering which makes it able to melt larger pads more quickly. Haven’t had thermal runaway happen at all.Quality seems great. It was shipped inside a protective plastic tube with rubber inserts on each end, so no issues with damage during shipping. I appreciate when manufactures make the packing protective. Overall great so far.Update: I’ve been using this tip for several months everyday, for all my soldering tasks, and it’s held up. Does much better maintaining heat melting large pads than the stock conical tip included with most irons if this style. It works well, and is durable. 5 stars.update 2: This is the only tip I’ve had for the last 6mo, and have been using it almost a year now every day and it has not broken yet. I’m surprised. I don’t have a “big” soldering iron, I use the pinecil v2 still for all my soldering tasks. For the larger pads on some N-channel FET spot-welding power pcb’s I’ve been assembling and testing I often have it at the maximum temp (850deg[f]) of the pinecil.Update 3: I purchased another BC2 tip when it came back in stock, and it works great like the first one. It functions in the iron exactly the same as the first did. Good regulation within 4(deg[f]) again, (displayed) like the first one.Final verdict: It’s a durable and great functioning replacement for Pinecil soldering iron tips. That’s been my experience, at least. I’ll probably stick to these instead of having to order a whole set of originals. A little side note: I actually prefer these to the lower ohm pinecil “short” tips because, although the short tips heat more quickly, they have less mass where the element is located, (directly behind the tip) and in my experience, suffer from greater temperature fluctuations, sometimes making the iron struggle to keep up even when using a 19v laptop power adapter. I don’t mind waiting a few extra seconds for these longer tips to heat up because I prefer how they preform once fully heated vs the short tips. The short tips do heat extremely quickly, though, I will say that.

I buy the Uy Chan TS100/TS101 tips to do my bit to support the company that made the soldering iron that I like to use. Uy Chan is Miniware if you were unaware.

Others were slightly cheaper but this seemed like a better seller and more reliable quality and both were true. Mine was marked and packaged as a Miniware version, a know good version. I tried it and temperatures with my Pinecil seemed to jump around as it heated but quickly stabilized when it reach temperature, I had set it for 440 C to push it so maybe that was why it seemed to jump around at first since it heated up very quickly. Overall very satisfied.

This tip will help you get'er done!Frankly I was a bit worried the TS100 may not live up to the hype, but now no worries...

I got this tip because I had some very tiny (to me) parts to solder for a project. With having no prior SMD soldering experience, I was able to fairly easily solder the 0603 parts that the tip included with my TS100 iron would just carry away.Heats up lightning fast but lacks enough thermal mass to deal with any heavy ground planes. One cap needed this tip to solder the non-grounded side, then another beefier tip to deal with the ground plane on the other. But over all, I like this tip for intricate work.

This performs as well as my other tip, a BC-2, which is to say, excellent. I love my TS-100 and the selection of excellent tips is a big reason why. The C4 tip has a little more heat capacity, and can solder a bigger joint with a lower temp than the BC-2. I was worried about the sharpness of the acute angle at the very tip, as I would also like to use it for touching up QFN packages on occasion. No worries there, it was just the protective solder coat on the tip, the underlying material comes to a fine point, so in a pinch, the C4 tip an be used for very fine work. It's still not as nice as a fine tip for the fine work, but it's very versatile. It doesn't heat up quite as fast as the finer tip, but that's the laws of physics for you. It's still well under 7 seconds from start to melting solder, and from idle at 100C, I didn't have to wait at all after picking it up off of the stand.

Like many people, I like a chisel tip of moderate size for most electronics tasks. This fits the bill perfectly. The heating rate is nothing short of amazing. You can go from cold to 310C in less than 10 seconds using 24 VDC. The temperature regulation is also excellent. Things are not as good at 12 V and it only begins to be acceptable at 18V. But give this a full 24 V and you will fall in love. How can it be so small and so good??

Does not maintain heat. I apply solder to it and it drops from 300 down to 200 or less making the solder stick to the tip. I will be buying name brand from now on.Update: Turns out I had a bad tip. UY Chan contacted me and sent me a new one without too much fuss. The new one worked much better and didn't drop temp like the first one. It still didn't get hot enough to melt the solder already on a Raspberry Pi 3 but that might be due to the type of solder used rather than the tip. Tip size is small enough for 26awg wire but probably not small enough for surface mount. for those curious as to size.
