Perfect size for me. I needed a smaller height to fit in my camera backpack.

If you need a replacement foot with an Arca-Swiss style dovetail for the Canon EF 100-400L II lens, this is one of the least expensive options. I like the overall design, which includes scalloped shapes allowing a little more room for fingers to slide between the foot and the lens itself. So why not rate it five stars? Even tightening the foot down as securely as possible, I can still get it to move ever so slightly when I grab the foot and twist or turn it. This movement is miniscule -- maybe a quarter of a millimeter, and requires a bit of force. But the original Canon foot doesn't move AT ALL when I try the same test.In normal use -- i.e., when mounted to a tripod with the foot is positioned below the lens, this very minor movement won't matter at all. There are no twisting/turning forces on the lens when used this way. And if you want to switch to vertical shooting, it's easier/better balanced to rotate the lens within the tripod collar than to turn the head 90 degrees. But if you're hanging the lens off of the side of an equatorial mount for astrophotography, or mounting it on something like a Wimberley MonoGimbal head, which literally hangs it off to the left or right, there can be some turning/twisting forces on the foot that aren't present under 'normal' shooting conditions. I don't know if gravity alone is enough force to cause the foot to shift, but if the lens was precisely pointed on a tracking mount, then even a tiny movement can cause problems.Overall this is a nicely-designed replacement foot that will work well for 99% of use cases.
