Made a balloon in a Malay black anodized. The lens tone is actually pretty small and lightweight but if I’m gonna use a monopod or a tripod, it’s a must.

As many reviewers have said, this is an excellent piece of kit, for a fraction of the price of the Nikon original. It's reassuringly solid, fits easily, and locks in place firmly. Highly recommended.

Fits perfectly and snug. For those using this with a teleconverter, the rig is better balanced on a ring-mount strap when using the lens ring “backwards.”

You can't beat this for the price. I use it on my Nikkor AF-S 300mm F/4E PF ED with my D850, with or without my T-II teleconverter. It is structurally very good and generally good workmanship. The powder coating could be a little more robust. Also, the ring is too tight for my lens - you almost have to take the ring off to turn the camera body from horizontal to vertical. With the 300mm being so light it would be helpful if you could mount the ring with the mount pointing back to the camera body instead of away from the camera body; but the part connecting the mount to the ring is not quite long enough. This is doable when using the TC-II because the mount is far enough away from the camera body. But again, a good product for the price.

I was a little suspicious because of the price gap, and certainly if you are going to sell these for around $50, you need to make quite a few of them. However, I have found no shortcomings at all to this mounting ring. That said, I do not plan to remove and reinstall every few days, so I cannot speak to the longevity of the ring closure. The lens/camera will rotate easily and then clamp firmly. What more is needed? The threaded hole in the foot is in exactly the right place for balance with a D500, so much so that the camera/lens combination is stable on a monopod (!). With the extra weight of a 1.4x teleconverter and moving the camera far away, it is still easy to position the camera without putting torque on the tripod head. It is a good expenditure for about 4% of the price of the lens it holds.

Well, it works! It fits practically perfectly around my extension tube. There is a little place on its latch where it looks to be 'machined', and its silver metal is thus shining through to the surface, not covered with the black enamel in just this one small area, probably to make it lock more perfectly. But, it gets the job done rather nicely and looks handsomely produced. I still may continue looking for a ring that fits around the indigenous camera lens housing, but, honestly, no bigger than the extension lenses are for this particular camera are, & the not-too-significant weight ratio between camera/lens, this may do me forever. I'd like to say, though, that anyone ordering any type of ring please consider: Most rings that you can purchase- when you lock them fully- keep in mind that they are usually NOT perfectly round in circumference. But rather, they resemble an 'oblate' circumference. Which means that you'll probably have to add two, three, or four more milimeters to the OD (Outward Diameter) of your camera or device. And you still might have to shop around & return some. But, this ones fits this tube perfectly. YAY!

Very nicely made. Fits perfectly on my Nikon 70-200mm AF-S F/4 lens. I will leave this on the lens as it holds it off the table when I set the camera down down. Nice and balanced. I will not be using it as a tripod quick release, will be adding my own plate to the bottom as needed. It looks as good as the Nikon version at a reasonable price.

I purchased this to improve camera/lens balance for a Nikon D750 with 300 F/4E lens, mounted on a star tracker. This is a high quality, sturdy mount ring that fit my lens perfectly and is easy to remove for hand held wildlife photography. When shooting with a tripod, I now the mount ring to improve balance when mounted on a tilt head. I highly recommend this lense mount ring.

Great value relative to the ridiculously over priced Nikon version of this item, seems to have excellent build quality and fits the lens very snugly. It has a smooth fabric material on the inside that means no marks and grips very well. The delivery time was quicker than advertised and arrived well packaged, all in all a great find for my 70-200 F4

This is a very well made, high quality mount ring. I use it with my Nikon 300mm F/4 VR lens. It is a perfect fit and there is not one compromise I can find in its design or its construction. The price of the Nikon branded ring, in excess of 3 figures before the decimal point, is absurd. This ring is a much smarter purchase.
