The mold is missing pin to hold small metal plate for motor connector. The screw hole is also not deep enough resulting in the screw sticking out and not able to hold the plate.

This product was a great replacement for the original after it broke. Make sure when installing it, and if it turns smoothly then keep going but if it turns rough then return the item. But this case it was a perfect fit and works. The camera does zoom in and out to recalibrate the lens sometimes but thats not because of the ring but probably the wires or sensors being out of spec after the lens being dropped. Also its probably the connection between the lens and the camera body if anyone else has a problem with the camera not reading the lens but there is a metal e-mount upgrade that eliminates play between the lens and camera body which also provides a better connection. Also this product is very cheap so its very affordable for those who are thinking of fixing their own lens when warranty is out , warranty that doesn't cover drops or if the camera repair shop over charges for a fix that is simple if you find the right tools and resources with patience.

This is an exact replacement. It is very tricky to remove the old one and worse to install the new one.Works as good as new when done correctly.

Had to send back. Put in in my camera lens and got the same result each time. It would zoom out the lens but then would tell me lens was not recognized. Was not happy with the product and would not order it again.

Obviously not an original Sony part. It's a bit crude looking compared to the Sony part. For the price who can complain? It functions exactly as well as the original part. An excellent how-too video is on YouTube from a fellow called TechnologyMafia. He did an excellent job with the video and you can see all the steps very clearly with his excellent narration and camera work.
