Intuitive locking mechanism fits perfectly and feels very sturdy when tight (no slipping) on my Z fc (with FTZii). There's a felt lining so it doesn't scratch the outside of the lens when rotating, which I was worried about from some reviews, but I'm not having any issues. More than good enough for the price.

As a pro photographer I use the 70-200 2.8 everyday which has a built in lens collar and not entirely removable. This review will be compared to that. I am using this on the Nikon 70-200 F4 and I like this iShoot collar as it does have a integrated Arca Swiss Plate built into the foot so if you have a head like an Really Right Stuff (RRS) or something similar, it's ready to go and fits exact! The collar does have play in the tension hand screw if you do not tighten it down but once you tighten it, its very solid. It has safety screw so even if it’s fully loosened it will not fall off the lens. Inside the collar it has velour so it won’t scratch your lens. Loosen the hand screw to go vertical or horizontal then re-tighten. It's not as good as a built in lens collar like on the 70/2002.8 because its on the outside of the lens barrel instead of integrated into the lens but on the flip side, you can remove the collar when traveling with it or plan to photograph handheld. Overall, I think its very solid built and I would purchase again and recommend this collar. It’s all aluminum other than the knob. Overall, a very nice design! The only difference between the one I received and the one pictured on Amazon is a couple of 3mm screws (silver) on the bottom of the foot in the front and back that are not recessed and I plan to remove them since they do not have a function. The collar fits around the lens and tightens with a camming action. I found that the cam fits so tight that you cannot turn it to tighten the collar, it will lock but will remain loose. I wanted to return the collar but it must be returned to a location in China which will cost more than the collar. I now own a useless collar .Beware.
