We get frequent visits from our neighborhood bears about 2-3 times a week. I will say that if installed correctly.. which requires being extremely accurate with your measurements then the trash pandas won’t rip your trash up. Unfortunately I didn’t measure mine that accurately, there’s probably 1.5 inches of space that the bears can some how get their giant paws in to tear my trash to shreds still. All in all, still a decent product that I’d recommend to someone.

Only had to use 1 to keep the raccoons out of my trash can. It’s easy to unhook for humans but not for an animal.

The product takes a bit of time to install (positioning the brackets properly, drilling holes, etc), but once done, the garbage lids are easy to secure. Further, if you allow just a little slack in the lines, it is quite easy to unsnap the connections to open the lid and then snap them back in place when you are done. In our neighborhood, the problem is Javalina who sporadically knock over the garbage cans in order to access the content.

I used bungee cords before and it just wasn’t working. No way the raccoons are getting in this time. If you’re slightly handy this won’t be an issue to install. Be precise with the length. It doesn’t have to be super tight to work. The bolts are a smidge long. I cut off with a reciprocating saw and then put gorilla glue duct tape over the top so the garbage bags don’t snag. You probably don’t need to cut any off, the duct tape should be enough to prevent snags. On garbage day, un clip from top and then clip to the bottom on the opposite sides so they don’t get caught by the garbage truck.

For the past couple weeks we have had a lot of wind. It's strong enough that it keeps on knocking over my recycling bin. Then I have to go around and pick everything up again.I was looking at something else and this popped up. I read the description and figured if it can keep animals out it should have no issues with the wind.As soon as it arrived today I went out and put it on my recycling bin since recycling goes out tonight.A great solution for my problem. I did not realize that the cable that goes between the lid and the side of your recycling bag was going to be made out of metal. It has a plastic type of coating on it so no worry about rust. I thought it was going to be some sort of bungee cord. I'm so glad it wasn't.Very easy to install everything you need is included except for a drill and wrenches. If you don't have a drill you can heat up the drill bit and melt a hole through the plastic. Then the only thing you would need is some wrenches or pliers.
