Improve your dust collector's efficiency by converting to a two-stage unit with this cyclone lid and a standard 5 gallon bucket. This cyclone lid and bucket collect larger and heavier debris before they can reach and clog the filter. Lid features a foam gasket for superior seal. The elbow fitting under the inlet side induces a cyclonic air flow inside the bucket for increased efficiency. Lid accepts 2-1/2” ID hose and fits 5 gallon buckets with maximum diameter of 11-3/4".

I’ve used it for a week now in the wood shop. Simply stated it does what it’s supposed to. Virtually all of the dust stays in the bucket. I will be finding a static location for it and utilizing a longer hose to move around the shop. I like that it’s much lower profile as well.

I don't really have any negative things to say about this product. For what it costs, it far exceeds my expectations! If fact, as you can see by the picture, maybe it has such a good seal that it collapsed my HD bucket! LoL I'll be looking for a stronger bucket, but as far as a low budget option for dust control for those of us just starting out, BUY THIS! You won't be disappointed. One day i plan on having a nice shop with a bigger setup for multiple devices, but until that day, I'll swap out tools as i use them. Have fun building stuff!

Skip this. Buy another product. This one is horrible because you have to go to a hardware store and figure out a reducing system. Or go out and purchase hose and 2 new ends. Yes the one side of the vacuum hose fits in the unit, but then what goes into vacuum? Brilliant. I’ve never seen a vacuum hose with both ends the size of the vacuum port. Maybe I’m wrong. The input side is fine because you use the smaller tip for the job, they should have included the reducer for the outlet going to the vacuum. Obviously it creates a little bit of a bottle neck, but it should be thought for people that can’t build there own hose or figure out how to create a reducer.PLUS the lid doesn’t seat all the way. It kinda sticks up on one side leaving a gab and not sealing. Kinda useless because stuff is gonna get out. Someone thought it was smart to purchase the cheapest thing they could find from China to put on here, but probably have never used it.I’m gonna just return it. It’s better to use the paper filters to really make sure your vacuum keeps all of the dust internal.

Reviewers that talk about there not being a second elbow or that it doesn't seem to be effective (which comprise the bulk of the bad reviews) probably put theirs together incorrectly -- the elbow goes INSIDE the bucket on the port where the dust is coming from (i.e., NOT the one connected to the vacuum). The idea is that the elbow is pointed towards the inside wall of the bucket so the incoming air & dust creates a small cyclone to separate out the dust and let it drop to the bottom of the bucket, leaving only the air to exit through the vacuum. My unit works fine.

This product is sturdy and works well, especially for the price. But I suppose it depends entirely on the vacuum you use it with. I use it with my Rigid shop vac as a spot carpet cleaner/extractor to clean up spills and pet "mistakes". I can isolate the wet pickups from the vacuum and not have to take out the bag & filter or clean the whole vac each time I use it for liquid. One star off for having vertical ports straight up. Would like to have 2 more elbows for the top so the vac hoses don't pull it over so easily.

This little addition to my shop dust extraction efforts works great. Honestly, I'm shocked at the efficiency of its operation.Note to potiential buyers: you will need an extra lenght of the larger shop vac type hose (2.5 inch I think), and a couple of 2x2 inch rubber connectors, or the appropriate adapters to make it work. You'll also need a 5 gallon bucket, and a few hose clamps. For an investment of around 30 bucks (not including the vac), you can have a very effective dust collection system for a single tool such as your lathe, drill press, or table saw. I am very pleased with this product

The value is good given that so many of the other doofuses out there are charging $100+ for a cone glued to a lid; so at least it is cheaper and basically works. On the down side,(1) it tips over easily; so needs to be secured, because if it tips over everything goes to the vacuum anyway.(2) the "ports" are symmetric size top and bottom; so there is no tapered male connection, and the ports are sized to fit a standard vacuum elbow (that comes with it). So basically they inserted two pipes into the top of a lid. The top ports look male but are actually 2-1/4" MD (that is MD, Mean Diameter or middle with a 1/8" wall thickness) this means if you want to use it you need one, maybe two, 2-1/8" female/OD or 2-3/8" male/ID couplers or adapters, to connect and then adapt to standard male or female.
