These will work if you have the patience to figure out how to put them on. It will take 2 people. I got so frustrated that I threw them away.

These trash can locks are awesome. Up till recently we had a garbage pail that was broken and the lid went missing so we had a local raccoon who frequented our home to steal trash. To stop him stealing from us, we purchased two new garbage pails and these locks to put onto them. Well, let me tell you, none of our trash has been stolen since we have put these babies on. They are excellent, easy to use and effective. 5 stars.

They are strong you have to give them a little time to loosen because they are tight when locking them. That’s just what I wanted. Have raccoons that would find a way to get into garbage,the raccoons pushed a brick from the top of can to patio porch without breaking the brick. These held the lid on. The raccoons out. I can tell they tried chewing it or trying to eat it and had to give up. Only a thread was loose. But the garbage stayed in.

So, I have raccoon problems. I needed a quick fix, and this lock definitely helped. I haven't had to clean up trash in a couple of weeks. So, I'm loving it. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars because after the trash men get through with opening it and taking the trash, the band falls off the trash can. I'm going to have to possibly use a zip tie to keep it attached to the trash can so as to not lose it but other than that this product does the job and is easy to use!

Pros:- Easy to take on and off- Keeps bears out of the trash cans, I have countless videos of black bears frustrated that they could not get into our trash bins any longer, even jumping up and down on them. (lol)Cons:- Hard to adjust without a bit of trial and error- Not easy for kids or those who are not as strong, to use

I got this because I read the reviews and it looks like it would be really helpful to keep the raccoons out. However, it was super tight around our trashcan and the first one broke that I ordered and the other one that came in the box is way too tight and a huge pain because every time you unclasp, but it goes flying down, it is way too tight only get this if you have a super small trashcan maybe
