The latch on a boat trailer I just bought was rusty and worn. This replacement was a drop-in replacement for the latch on that Hopkins coupler. Took just a minute to install, and a couple more to carefully dial in the fit so that it grips the hitch ball firmly but not too tight.

After hit and run damaged my trailer and the coupler pin was bent, I needed a replacement. After looking all over I remembered to check Amazon. Received the coupler in one day. Thank you. The spring was larger than the old one and very stiff. I ended up using the lever and pin and using the spring from the old coupler. Worked out very well.

I have a Shelby 5135 hitch on my motorcycle trailer. Someone ran over it with a tractor. Nobody is fessing up and it could have been me. I can't imagine there was much fanfare when it got run over. Anyway, it bent over an broke the top latching mechanism so I needed to replace it. I was hoping that this would be a drop-in replacement, but it doesn't function properly as is. Luckily I still had the old one and was able to use a part from it to make this work.If you are needing a new latch for a Shelby 5135 and still have the bottom part that pivots on the fixed pin and pushes up against the back of the ball, then this will replace all the other parts and get you back in business. I used everything in this kit except the part pictured. It is NOT right for a Shelby 5135, but all the rest of the parts are.
