This camera mount is a strong and versatile solution for anything about the size and weight of a trail camera with a 1/4" screw base. It's tight spring and wide clamp holds well clamped to objects up to about 2" thick. Good value for the 2 pack.

I have all types of mounts for my action cameras, but what was missing is a simple clamp-type mount that will stay where you place it. I ordered this Trail Camera Clip Mount by ALTIN to fill that void.My first impression when opening the box is that they are nicely made with a nice semi-gross black color with the exception of the spring, pivot, camera mount stud/ball, and the locking screw for the pivot which are shiny silver. The clamp requires a good amount of effort due to the strong spring. The pivot assembly does have the motion adjustments as stated by the seller. The threads on the camera mount is 1/4"-20 which is standard and it fit all of my cameras. The thing that I did not like on the locking knob is, it is smooth on the outer surface which does not provide you with any grip to tighten it against the camera base. There is no reason it has to be smooth.Clamping the mount on objects including round tubing showed me that the strong clamping force and rubber padded jaws will keep your camera as steady as the object that you mounted it on. In the product ad, they make a claim of 3 to 15cm (1.2 to 5.9 inches) clamping range which is impossible. The jaws when fully open only measures 5.5cm at best.My initial tests included mounting both a small action camera and a full-size camera with a moderate sized lens to see how well these mounts performed. On one of my test set-ups, they were both mounted on a round tubing structure. The structure was moved, vibrated, and impacted, yet the cameras held their position without shifting. For reference, the large camera was mounted on a 1.5 inch (3.8cm) diameter tube and the action camera was mounted on a 1.75 inch (4.5cm) diameter tube.I am happy with the performance of these camera clamp mounts especially when you consider the low price.

This trail camera clip mount has proven itself to be well made and has a secure hold. The ¼ inch mount fits standard camera accessories, and not just a trail camera. I’ve used it to mount my phone onto my treadmill and on tree branches for group pictures/selfies while hiking and enjoying nature. The most use I’ve gotten out of this had been at the supermarket. I use an app (“Anylist”) for my shopping lists but keeping it in the cart eventually gets crowded and I have no good place to put my phone. I mounted a Magsafe mount made for the standard ¼ inch camera mount and now my trips to the supermarket are so much easier. The clip holds tight onto the cart handle despite it being smooth, round plastic. I’ve been quite happy with this clip mount and have suggested it to random people at the supermarket who let me know that it’s a great idea.

As an outdoor enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for reliable accessories to complement my trail cameras. When I received the **ALTIN Trail Camera Clip Mount** through the Vine program, I was excited to give it a try. This product comes as a **2-pack trail camera bracket** with a camouflage design and claims of versatility, thanks to its **360° rotatable interface** and adjustable clamp. Here’s my take on its performance after a hands-on test.### **First Impressions**The ALTIN clip mount has a sturdy build, with a tight clamping system designed to securely grip trees or other surfaces during field use. The camouflage pattern is a nice touch, blending well with outdoor environments to avoid spooking wildlife. The **1/4-inch screw** design made setup straightforward for attaching my trail cameras.### **Strengths**1. **Tight Clamping Power:** The spring-loaded clamp mechanism is robust and ensures the mount stays in place once secured. I’m confident this will hold steady even in windy conditions.2. **360° Rotatable Interface:** The adjustable rotatable interface is a great feature that allows for precise angling of the camera. Whether you’re tracking game from multiple directions or capturing time-lapse scenery, this level of flexibility is a plus.3. **Camouflage Design:** Helps in reducing visibility in nature, offering an edge for hunters or wildlife enthusiasts.### **Concerns**Despite its strengths, there are some drawbacks that significantly impact its usability:1. **Misleading Clamp Capacity Claims:** One of the advertised features of this product is its ability to clamp to surfaces ranging from **3 centimeters (1.811 inches) to 15 centimeters (5.90551 inches)**. Unfortunately, this is **not accurate.** While testing, I found that the clamp could **barely handle a 2x4 (approximately 1.5 inches in thickness)**. Anything wider and the spring mechanism simply wouldn’t open far enough. The limitations here are due to both the **clamp opening distance** and the **excessive tension** of the spring.2. **Overly Tight Spring:** On one hand, the strength of the spring ensures a secure grip. On the other, it significantly restricts the range of applications. The effort required to open the clamp wide enough for larger surfaces was more than it should have been, and the actual usable clamp width falls far short of the advertised 15 cm.3. **Design Oversight:** I feel the design could have benefited from tweaking the spring tension to allow for a wider clamp range. Prioritizing adjustability over excessive clamping power would have made this a more functional product.### **Overall Impressions**The ALTIN Trail Camera Clip Mount definitely has potential and will work in specific scenarios, such as clamping to smaller branches, pipes, or thinner surfaces. The **tight clamping power** and **rotatable interface** are its main strong points. However, the misleading claims about its clamp range and the overly aggressive spring tension are major drawbacks that can limit its use for many. This is particularly disappointing since one of the mount’s primary selling points was its supposed wide range of applications.### **Rating Explanation**I deducted **three stars** for the following reasons:- **1 star deducted** for the inaccurate advertising regarding the clamp range.- **1 star deducted** for the overly tight spring and limited usability, which restricts adaptability.- **1 star deducted** for not addressing this limitation in the product description, which could mislead customers.### **Final Verdict**If your use case falls within the **actual clamp range (roughly up to a 2x4)** and you value secure clamping and camera flexibility, this product might work well for you. However, if you were hoping for something with broader versatility as advertised, you may want to consider other options. While it’s not a total miss, the execution doesn’t fully live up to the claims, which is why I’m giving it **2 out of 5 stars*****. As always, this is just **my personal opinion based on my first impressions along with the first time using it **, and I hope it helps others make an informed decision!
