This is a great and reliable high temperature thermocouple wire with a K-Type sensor.
The sensor is at the tip of a 3 ft long wire probe, which has a high temperature ceramic fiber insulation. It has a miniature type connector that will work with most digital K-type thermometers. This probe can used to measure air or gas temperatures, it can be attached to pipes or embedded into objects you want to measure. Excellent to use in kiln, pottery, metal working or a high temperature oven or furnace.

Ok quality measurements were a little off

Has held up to being put in ovens and everything else. Worth the money for a heavier duty one.

Unreliable and doesn't seat snugly. If you manipulate the wire at all you can get the reading to change. Whether this is due to there being a break somewhere in the middle of the probe or because the prongs are moving around in the sockets is unclear. Tried with both a Fluke and Amprobe thermometer. Because of the instability the probe is basically useless.

I needed to calibrate the porcelain furnaces at the dental lab I work at...the thermocouple that came with the digital thermometer was only good up to 1200 degrees and I needed to have the ability to get to 1750 and the 2200 limit on this thermocouple was more than adequate...the fiberglass insulator barely changed color's in the heat looks like I'll be able to use it for a long time... that's good because we have 6 furnaces to keep accurate....10 degrees off makes a big difference in the look of the porcelain teeth...

Great product. Durable and accurate and fast response time. Within 1 degree of my Fluke remote probe. I prefer this to the Fluke and will be buying again... I'd still recommend checking for accuracy because maybe I got a good one. Best construction and materials out of every temp probe I've owned.

Bought 2 of these for my home designed/built coffee roaster. The probes/cable worked fine as far as finding a great spot for both and the temps readings respond very quickly and stabilize faster than other/thicker probes I've used. Problem is the insulating fiber just didn't hold up well at all. Granted I did have one of the probes in coffee being agitated so there was some friction and I did have a concern over this possibly being an issue, but didn't want to overthink it. Sure enough early on the fibers started to break down quite easily and then just fell apart. I can't really complain that much as maybe they're not intended for my use, but do feel that for the price point the build quality should be more robust. Now I'm out $60 and went back to using stainless wrapped probes that have never let me down.

I got tired of dealing with flaky cheap thermocouples and decided to spend a little more on this model. I'm glad I did as it solved some of my intermittent reading issues. The wires are are much thicker gauge than the cheap stuff and the weld at the end looks nice and solid. Both the hot end and the connector end are nicely finished and the plug has solid pins. The only caution I would give is that the cable is relatively stiff due to the wire gauge and in certain applications that could be an issue.

I’m a service technician on commercial restaurant equipment. This works perfectly for calibrating high temperature pizza ovens that cook at 550 degrees F. The basic Fluke thermocouple that came with my meter doesn’t survive those temperatures. Drop it in a cup of ice water and it reads 32degrees F just like it should. The quality feels exceptional, its also nice and stiff yet flexable so I can bend it around closed oven doors.

It comes with a "large" plug, but that can be removed to expose the leads and you can screw those into your amp plug. It is very robust with no plastic to melt, except on the plug itself. I'm using it to measure temps in a kiln, average of 1000 degrees F. I think it is a little inaccurate because it doesn't agree with my kiln, but I'm not sure that one is perfect either. Hard to say which one is off
