Reading the different reviews gave the impression that the tomahawk is junk.Had visited a place in Marion that has an indoor throwing stalls.I still have my first tomahawk that was forged for me, it's probably 30 or 40 years old.The place I mentioned, based on my observations that patrons were throwing at any tomahawk still stuck in the target.It's definitely not what I was shown in competition.

Edge on the axe is not sharp but enough to stick to a board from throwing..

The hawk was what I expected so no surprises. I had a cold steel pipehawk in the past and enjoyed customizing it. I didn't use it to throw and won't this one either.I'm looking forward to customizing this one.It arrived VERY dull and blunt, and the wood handle was very lightweight and felt like I could break it with my eyes.Attached find some "as arrived" photos and I'll try to update later.

Handles are beech wood. Very brittle and break easily. Need to order bulk handles, and willing to do so, but need to know what specific one to order. Other than that, tomahawks are fun to throw.

It’s an imported tomahawk. The metal is cast, then hardened, and the wood handle is brittle and cheap (no wonder other reviewers say it breaks). It’s not the correct weight for indoor competition use. It’s very light in comparison and, due to the wrong grind profile (convex, not concave) for the edge, this thing requires a very fast throw to make it stick. So, it’s not meant to be thrown and the handle is ridiculously weak for utility chopping use. So, what is it good for? Decoration or as a trophy (photo includes surface grinding to get rid of the sand casting marks, adding imperfections to look forged, engraving a monogram, darkening with blueing agent, then polishing). If you wanted to use it for utility purposes; replace the straight handle with a quality one.

This is a great little 🪓 and it's light enough to take hiking and actually carry around, and you can't beat the price.
