If you tinker in the garage or do any DIY then you need this. It's helped me to take the guesswork out of identifying nuts and bolts during projects. Very easy and convenient to grab and quickly narrow down the hardware. As an added bonus, it looks great hanging on the wall or laying on the workbench. This is very well built as it's a chunk of metal.

Ordered this Thread, Bolt, Nut, Gauge Checker - Bolt/Drill Identifier - 20 Standard - 16 Metric size Board for my repair shop - I've mostly done my own repairs on all my trenching machines, mowers, tractor, and also for other customers.Always used (3) large open box tray bins to keep all bolts, screws, nuts, washers, & etc. in when needed, and anytime I've needed a certain bolt, nut, screw, or etc., it would sometimes take 30-45 minutes to sort thru many pounds of all these mixed up in (3) tray boxes and it's always been a pain. Recently, I purchased several new smaller storage bins and have been slowly sorting all bolts, screws, washers, and other fasteners out in separate bins, but the thread sizes are still mixed up, but just the sorting out has really helped. Recently while shopping online for some new bolts that I couldn't find in my bins, I saw this nice thread, bolt, nut, drill size checker w/standard & metric sizes and designed by CNC to perfection and ordered it. This is a very nice "all in one unit" handy tool. It has the most common size thread checker sizes and nut sizes in standard & metric. Also like the nice "built in" drill bit size checker. Very good and precise instrument as it will not even work for "irregular nuts/bolts", (junk grade nuts/bolts), and that's great to know when doing repair work on quality precision machine repairs. This tool is even designed to work on both sides (either side) for bolts & nuts. The housing is made of metal and smoothed red finish and all sizes are etched beside each thread for easy identification. I keep it handy right next to my work bench. I'm sure this tool will last me a lifetime.I do recommend this tool - Happy with order

This is a really great bolt and nut measuring template. It goes all the way from a metric bolt and nut size M3x.5 all the way up to a SAE standard bolt or nut size 3/4-16. Phenomenal! It feels like it's made out of a heavy duty machined aluminum. It also comes with four rubber mounting standoffs so you can fasten it to a wall to always keep it ready whenever you need to measure nut or bolt in your garage. I can't tell you how many times I wished I had one of these when I was doing automotive repair work or fixing something around the house. The bolt and nut templates that are included with this have been smoothly machined so that any piece you mate with it slides on effortlessly.

Couldn't find place for question. This looks like the imperial side scale is divided into 1/10 units instead of the required 1/16 units.

I have owned a set of thread checking sockets on a chain for many years. The set works but is inconvenient to use in many cases because you cannot remove just one socket to test a thread. Sometimes you have to twist the entire chain of sockets several times before you can identify a thread. This tool and the sockets on a chain both work if you can bring the bolt, nut or fastener to the tool. Having both types of checker may be advantageous in that case. The problem arises when you have to bring the tool to the fastener you wish to check. In that case, the sockets on a chain may be your only choice. You could remove the sockets from the chain but then run the risk of losing sockets as well as making your life more difficult because you will then have a pile of unsorted SAE and Metric sockets to work through.I think owning both kinds of test tools is the best choice. Adding a third set of individual test sockets would be the ideal solution. I have not yet found such a set. This tool is well made and well thought out. I fed it two random size fasteners and would have able to easily identify the thread sizes had I not known them beforehand. It is also, by far, the nicest looking tool I own. Would look great just hanging on a wall as a piece of art with or without some random bolts and nuts inserted.

I am now one of the privileged few to own my own thread and bolt size checker! I too was tired of waiting at the big box store for my turn (sometimes) to use the in-store identifier so I could purchase the right size, and turned what should be a 10 minute in and out stop to a half hour or more! This solid aluminum board is about a quarter inch thick with laser etched markings that I expect will hold up for many years. It is laid out well with most commonly used sizes included. I also like the fact that you can also check a few drill sizes, so it easy to check the size of an occasional stray bit. It has both metric an standard side edge rulers for checking bolt length, and it is all machined very cleanly. I checked a couple of known sized nuts and bolts, as well as a thread tap and die, and they were right on the money as far as fit. I highly recommend this product!
