When we started out, we used hand-me-down pots and pans, unmatched, not great quality--you know, early family style. I thought these pots and pans (T-Fal Professional VX3 Brushed Nonstick with Stainless Steel Handle Cookware Set 8 Piece) might be like a step above hand-me-down quality. You know, not great but still a matched set. I was wrong.This aluminum cookware is very nice! They have surprisingly heavy bottoms (a very good thing). I'm expecting them not to warp with time. The long handles are attached very securely with 3 rivets. No wiggling at all. And having the removable silicone sleeves saves me the trouble of buying some and the aggravation of getting ill-fitting ones that fall off in the cabinet.I'm not experienced with non-stick surfaces, other than knowing one must not use metal utensils so as not to scratch them, so this opinion is not coming from a place of expertise, but the surfaces seem dense and like they won't easily degrade (given proper usage), and they really are non-stick. I tested with an egg, and didn't need any cooking spray. I haven't yet, but I'm hoping soon to test the skillet with pita and tortillas to see if it'll work as well as my cast iron.The lids are fantastic. Heavy glass encircled with what looks like stainless steel, a vent in the glass, and a silicone-coated handle. They make a nice tight fit on the pan.These are supposed to be OK for use in an oven up to 400F with the silicone sleeves or 500F without the sleeves. I'll confess that I'm nervous about using nonstick in the oven... not for any particular reason, but it may take me a while to work up to trying it.This may still be considered a starter set of cookware, but if so, it's a high-quality starter set. Not everyone can afford an expensive stainless steel set of pots and pans, and not everyone likes it. Some people swear by nonstick-coated pans, and these are very good nonstick pans.

T-Fal is a brand known for their massive number of nonstick pans on the market, and with this addition to their collections it feels more professional than ever. I can't say enough that this is just a beautiful set! The perfect way to get set up in a new kitchen or replace some over used pots and pans in your cabinets. The build quality on these is immaculate. While I believe a good amount of it is made of aluminum it still feels great, very heavy and sturdy. The non-stick coating on these is flawless and is advertised as super strong and heat resistant which is incredible. High heat resistance means you don't have to worry about any negative health effects coming off your non-stick unless you really scorch these pans.The handles feel super strong and are comfortable in the hand as they're long keeping you away from the heat and have the silicone handles that in my experience haven't even gotten so much as warm. With such high heat resistant these are great for meals that start on the stove top and then get finished in the over even up to temps as high as 500 degrees. They're flawlessly easy to clean even when searing meat I was able to wipe the pan practically clean without any soap or water. The array of pots and pans in this collection is perfect and covers every size you could need, whether you're making something small or a huge dish for the whole family you're set. The lids are also interchangeable with the pans so whatever you're doing this has set has everything.The only questionable thing I find with this set is that the lids are uncoated stainless or aluminum sitting on top of non-stick coating which may eventually cause the top sides of these to start chipping where the lids sit. So far though my set is still looking like new! The thermo spot tech is a bit of a gimmick that I find hard to see even when my pan is well preheated and temped using an IR thermometer. You can tell that even though the bottom of these pans is aluminum it's good quality because when I heated it over a gas flame it left absolutely no marks or distortion of the metal. Since the bottoms aren't plated the heating is nice and even all around the pan with no hot spots while cooking.I absolutely love this new pro-line of cookware from T-Fal. As someone who uses a lot of stainless steel in their kitchen I'll say that there's always going to be a few dishes that need non-stick and this set is some of the best you can get for your money. Since this set stays safe at higher temps and made with such a strong non-stick coating you can feel confident that you're still cooking healthy with these pans. This set will last you a very long time if you take care of it and the value is absolutely incredible on a set of 5 high quality pots and pans. T-Fal is a pretty trusted brand already and nobody makes a more nonstick coating, now with the premium quality on this set I highly recommend them!

This set is to replace my very inexpensive, but color coordinated cook ware that has flaking of the nonstick surfaces of the heavily used pans. I hate disposing of pans but I've read up on flaking nonstick and how its bad to be ingested. So, this set!Right out of the box these impressed with the balanced weight of each pan - they are not cheap big box store cookware!There's a couple fry pans, a deep fry pan with lid, a sauce pan with lid, and a pot with lid. All handles are heavy duty and well riveted on. They come with their own silicone sleeves that are removable! No more constantly reaching for the hot mitt which always makes my hands clumsy. Even the lids have a silicone section on their handles so you won't burn yourself removing the lids!Lids fit snugly on the well balanced pans. There is a symbol in the bottom that indicates when the pan is pre-heated and so far the pans evenly heat.I still slow pre-heat and use butter despite being non-stick - its a flavor thing. My utensils are silicone so they do not scratch the surfaces of my pans. Also, I use a soft dishcloth when cleaning - everything I did with my old set which should preserve the nonstick surface of these.I hang my pots and pans from a rack over the kitchen island so its not stacking that wrecked my last set. I think nonstick cookware just has a shelf life. Having said that, this cookware set is far sturdier, far thicker and actually balanced while my last set was a cheap starter set. I have high hopes for this set!Might still be in the honeymoon stage with this set as its only been a month but I'm still impressed!
