The main purpose of the snake hook is to move and catch the snake. When cleaning a snake's feeding box, the hook should be used to move the snake to another empty box or cloth bag before cleaning it, so that the snake is not disturbed and becomes upset. Great catcher. Live in Southern California and have already used it a couple times this year to relocate a live snake. Love it. Carry it with me every time I go outside.

The hook is made well and is safe for snakes . I have a full grown Ball python and she is almost too heavy . I shortened the handle and that gave me more confidence . I only use it around feeding time but it works .

I will not use this on anything larger than a Garter Snake.
