Works as advertised. Price competitive. Of course I went the extra mile. Pipe insulation on hose. Then pipe foam insulation. Then I put it all in ABS pipe.

I bought these for RV water line freeze protection in the winter. To my knowledge I am the first to do so. They worked fantastic. -7c and no issues. The standard water line heaters kept failing. These will not. Also, you can repair these if needed (never going to happen) AND they use a lot less electricity. I think at -20c they use something like 80 watts and the power used decreases in warmer temps. So they are WAY better than those water pipe heating coils everyone else uses. I had two of those fail before I used this.I believe the normal warranty for these de-icing cables is something like +20 years. If you need to keep your RV water line from freezing I strongly suggest using one of these deicing cables instead of the heating cord everyone else uses.

I have a gravity fed well from an underground spring coming out of the side of a mountain. The last three Winters has been minus 40 degrees Celsius and the underground spring I presume froze up because I don't get water once it gets that cold.I unraveled and tried to untwist the cord before shoving it through the pipe and hopefully it hasn't bunched up I have no way of knowing.I'll revise my review if it doesn't work but it seems to work fine when I plugged it in to test it became warm the wire is thickly covered it feels like a heavy gauge wire so I have hope that this will solve my water problem for the winter!

Solved an issue with gutters and downspouts freezing up when the snow on dark brown shingles started melting in the sun with temperatures well below 0 C . This would cause the melt water to freeze and back up, to the point that it would eventually split the downspout.I looped about 5m of the heating cable back on itself in the bottom of the gutter and ran the remainder through the downspout. The first time it got sunny at -8C, the cable provided enough heat to keep the melt water flowing with no problems.Despite the Manufacturer's advice, I used a 2m extension cord (heavy-duty wound10-guage) in order to connect to the outdoor electrical outlet, and everything worked as I had hoped.

Not its intended function, but melted through half a foot of ice to create a drainage channel.

Cable appears to be well made (time under exposure will tell the tale) but I was under the impression that this was a self- regulating cable. I plugged it in at 65° F ambient and it warmed up almost immediately. This 24- foot cable uses 120 watts. I installed it knowing that i will have to plug it in when freezing weather is forecast here in Central Texas.
