Best winter purchase!These saved my pipes from freezing and helped thaw out 1 that had completely frozen.Very easy to apply to the pipe and it is insulated too, easy Velcro closing so it fits different thickness of pipes.The cord could be a little longer but did the job I wanted.Good quality and totally reusable.A must have for cold weather

These pipe heaters are well made. They are thinner than a typical pipe insulator that have no heat. These are for pipes no larger than 1-1/4" in diameter. They fit tight. I don't get the black outer layer though. The listing calls it "waterproof flannelett". It soaks up water like a sponge. Not the slightest bit waterproof. I'm sure the heat wire is waterproof but all the water soaked into the outer shell will diminish the effectiveness of the heater. I think these would be better suited for dry areas or in conjunction with a waterproof outer wrap. The power cords are about 5 feet long.
