Record low temps this winter and no broken pipes. Just wrap it and I would use duct tape around the device. Whatever it came with did not work. All in all a simple little heater, an LED lets me know it still has power

Did the job well for one winter so far. Time will tell if it makes it through another but so far I’m very happy.

I wrap the outside faucet with the heater element, then cover it with a foam lined lunch box. I put a remote thermometer in the box. When the outside temp was 15 degrees, my pipe temp was 38. Great way to keep the outside pipes from freezing...

Installed the unit which was well built. Have not had a freeze since the installation but I am sure it will do the job.

Pipes froze couple weeks ago so I ordered and installed this and haven’t stressed about it since.Read instructions carefully as there is a specific way to install and make sure you have the proper insulation to wrap it.

Took the heat cable out of the box and tested it with ice water as instructed and the heat cable never came on. Broken right out of the box. Worthless.

With single digit temps on the way, I finally put electrical heat tape on my pipes. I have lived here for 13 years and every year I think “I should put heat tape on the pipes just in case”. But I didn’t do it because it’s a pain the ass crawling around the crawl space.Guess what…it wasn’t a pain. The company sent tape with the heating cord and it was easy peasy to wrap the pipes to protect them. Definitely a relief knowing the pipes are protected.

Last winter the pipes froze so I got this electric heat tape to take proactive steps before this winter. It's 90F today so I put the thermostat in some ice water and the wire heated up. I liked that I could use zip ties to secure it to the pipes. My pipes are clamped to the wall so using the included tape would have been difficult but my own zip ties worked fine. I'll update this review if it turns out that the pipes freeze this winter.

When I first tried the SnulyHeet 85 Feet Heating Tape for Pipe Freeze Protection, I was frustrated because it didn’t seem to work. However, after revisiting the installation guide, I realized the issue: the built-in thermostat wasn’t properly attached to the pipe. Once I ensured it was securely in contact with the pipe, the tape worked as expected and started preventing freezing effectively. What I Liked:Good Length: The 85-foot length is great for covering long sections of pipe.Built-in Thermostat: Automatically turning on and off based on temperature is convenient and energy-saving.Performance: After proper installation, it keeps the pipes warm even during freezing conditions.Challenges: The tape’s effectiveness depends heavily on correct installation, especially ensuring the thermostat is properly positioned. The SnulyHeet heating tape is effective when installed correctly, but it requires careful attention to the guide, especially regarding the thermostat. Once you get it right, it does the job well. I’d recommend it, but take the time to ensure proper setup.

This heat tape seems to be of high quality. Ran it up and down a 40' hose for my horse water bucket and spiral wrapped with PVC electrical tape. Works well. Just got a note from Amazon telling me of a rebate due to lowered import fees to Canada. I am impressed by the honesty involved. My thanks to Amazon or Seller, whoever initiated this item.
