HOW TO USE

Prepare Flammable Materials

Get Your Tinder Ready

Gather dry, flammable materials like fatwood, dry leaves, cotton, or shavings from the ferro rod. These will catch sparks easily.

Scrape Off the Black Coating

Scrape Off the Black Coating

The black coating on the ferro rod protects it from rust. Use the striker to scrape off some of the coating until you see the shiny metal underneath.

Correct Ignition Position

Strike to Create Sparks

Hold the striker at a 45° angle against the ferro rod, keep the rod steady, and pull it back slowly to direct sparks onto the tinder.

Take care ofthe newly lit flame

Nurture the Flame

Once your tinder catches fire, gently blow on it to grow the flame. Gradually add small sticks or kindling to build your fire.

  • Absolutely! The Clwryviduu fire starter is built with durable, high-quality materials designed to withstand rugged outdoor conditions, ensuring reliability on all your adventures.

Searched for a while for a decent fire stick and this is the winner. Easily makes GIANT sparks. You should have no trouble getting an ember. Paracord with emergency accessories is a very solid bonus. Durable and great value.

A bit tricky to get the hang of, but once you do, it works as designed. Definitely practice though because there’s a learning curve, and believe me, you don’t want to find that out when getting a fire going is of the utmost importance. I have one in with the camping equipment, one in the car, and another in the disaster box at the house. Not much day to day value unless you are an avid outdoorsman, but it’s inexpensive, small and easy to store. Good to have in case of emergency.

This was great entertainment at Christmas as it was given as gifts. Family member who just happens to work for the Boy Scouts showed everyone how to start a fire with it. Hint- we used dryer lint.

I wish there were instructions with this, because I watched a ton of videos and thought for the longest time I had a dud. In reality, you have to scrape the black coating that is painted on it off first to expose the silver color below and then you get a really nice spark. Once I figured that out, it worked fine, but there was no instructions to explain that and I wasn't pressing hard enough to remove the black coating at first. Even when I did press hard enough to scrape off the coating, it didn't spark, so I was worried I was just ruining it, but on the second scrape through, I got a good spark.
