Not really a lot to say about this product, other than it does as it is supposed to/expected to and is decent quality. Wooden handle is nice and does not appear to separate from the rod easily. The rod works as expected with the striker tool. With the whistle that comes with it, it wasn't something that we needed, but it is a nice added bonus. Overall, I'm pleased with it and would recommend this product.

This is not the first fire starter stick I bought. If you're just learning how to use these I would probably recommend one a bit longer. This one does work really well though and the wooden handle is somewhat nice and easy to hold on to comfortably. Seems to generate Sparks just fine. I recommend everyone keep one of these in their outdoor kit, or survival kit.

We take several methods to start a fire while camping and this tool is now part of our kit. As a first time user, I wish the rod was a bit longer however, with a little bit of practice, I got the hang of it. It's lightweight and compact for hikers. Good tool to have in the kit.

My boys and I like to feel we're prepared in the event we have to go 'off-grid'. This little tool gives you the ability to make fire if you happen to be without the other first-world niceties. I tried this out and I was able to get something going pretty quickly.
