Works great for my hiking pack. Very small, compact but love the orange color, makes it easy to find. Works great. I wanted a back up to have if my lighter get wet. If this gets wet, wipe it off and after a few strokes it will spark right back up! If you do not however, know how to start a primitive fire, it may pose difficult for you but otherwise, works like a champ!

Good price on two of these and they make great sparks!The little compass is a cute touch, whether it has great precision or not.I still have an old Cracker Jack compass... if you remember those this is about the same...And a whistle! what's not to like about this package!?

Feels like a kids toy, don't get that much spark per strike because it's so small. Good for fun, but not for if my life depends on it.

I wanted something that could be a multipurpose tool, so the compass was a nice addition to the fire starter. I'm keeping these for emergency purposes but I made sure it worked by lighting a fire in by fireplace with this. It wasn't hard at all, actually pretty easy. It feels good knowing I have a back up fire source if I need it.

I always test out products prior to hitting the trail. Because of that, I was happy to find this two pack for a decent price. The deciding factor was the quantity, the built in whistle and the additional fire starter rope.The fire starter works like a typical ferro rod fire starter. The plastic is a little flimsy, but I was able to use it without issue.Neither of the whistles worked. For many this will not be an issue. However, seeing it is an advertised feature, I felt the need to note this.

Almost didn't order because of the negative comments. Some people just can't be pleased. These are perfect strikers and work very well and easy to use. They are not too small! They are just the right size to fit into my tin of magnesium. The paracord is just an extra. Highly recommend these strikers for your camping or survival gear.

Unfortunately, one of the 2 items was defective. One item works well but the other is not working properly. So this review is a mixed response.* As an add on comment, the AOFAR team immediately resolved an issue with the product and demonstrated exceptional customer service. Kinda small so not a lifetime supply of fire, but it gives off more sparks than any ferro rod I've had. Likely best to not rely on the whistle. Seller quickly fixed a minor issue for me. 5 stars for service and the ferro compound used in these.

The ferrel rod and compasses (although cheap) work well. The whistle on one works when you blow really really hard, and there is a piece missing from the other so the whistle doesn't work at all.
