Nice stainless 30 amp hookup box. Will do well on the side of my house as the inlet for my generator. I love the fact that the plug is on the bottom of this box so that it shields it from the weather. I'm sure I will be frustrated trying to get the plug lined up without having to get on my knees and look under the box as I plug it in. The stainless will hold up. I wish the edges and corners were a little less sharp, but not dangerously so. Glad I got this and I'm looking forward to installing it! RECOMMEND.

We live on the coast and appreciate things made from stainless steel quite a bit. A quick note is in order here, stainless is exactly that, stain-less. It will eventually rust if not maintained or protected. Still typically better than painted steel though.I need a protected outlet near my carport, and this will be perfect for that task!

This is a great inlet box. It feels very strong and made of high quality material.What I really really really like about this is the fact that the inlet is on the bottom. I no longer have to worry about rain affecting the power from my generator (which I have in side a box).It was super easy to install; I was replacing a similarly sized older inlet.

This is a strong box that was easy to install. The knockouts popped out easy with the right tools. (Linemen pliers and a flat head) Other than that I don't know what to say. It's a solid box and I'm glad I picked it up!

This generator inlet box is the real deal! I've purchased several 30 amp generator inlet boxes recently for other properties/project and this is the one I plan to install on my personal property. It's very heavy duty and solidly constructed. The unit appears to be made of stainless steel, though it's still ferromagnetic/magnetic (magnets stick to it) indicating that it has higher iron content. Only time will tell if it rusts in the long run, but as of right now, I'm impressed. The unit came with the protective film still attached. One downside is that it's stainless steel and anyone with stainless steel appliances can attest to the fingerprint issues! Is that really a negative? Haha. One user commented about how the actual outlet plate is held in place by indentations in the sidewalls of the enclosure, which is true, but I wrenched on the plug quite hard during testing and the indentations held it in place just fine. You'd have to really be hammering on it to pop that plate out of the grove that it fits into. Regardless, I'm giving it 5 starts for the quality construction and ample room inside the box for larger gauge wires and the downward facing plug/outlet.

Replaced my old plastic generator hook up "inlet" that was only a year old but was already showing signs of UV degradation, even though we painted it. This 30-amp generator hookup box is top-notch! The all-stainless steel construction is super high quality, and installation was a breeze. My only minor complaint is that the knockouts were a bit tough to remove due to the thick stainless material, but that’s expected for something this solid. Overall, an excellent product—I highly recommend it! I probably should have EMT running to it, but I have what I have...made do.

The SURAIELEC 30 Amp Generator Power Inlet Box, NEMA L14-30P appears in most respects to be an attempt on the part of its designer and manufacturer to produce a quality product. The stainless steel enclosure is well-formed and still has the original plastic film to protect the finish, although it does have some sharp edges.The main issue is that the mounting surface for both the inlet receptacle and the hinged door are held in place by indentations in the sidewalls of the enclosure. If any excessive force is exerted when inserting or extracting the plug, the receptacle mounting plate can become dislodged. I'll install some brackets to fix this.As with so many unlisted electrical products sold online, defects are not discovered and corrected in the listing process. Yes, the receptacle itself is listed, but not the assembly.One star off for misleading advertising ("ETL Listed") and one for the aforementioned design issue.
