I personally enjoy camping in national forests where you don't have traditional campgrounds with neighbors. For me, going camping is about decompressing and grounding myself with just the sounds of mother nature. This little shovel comes in a great case that is pretty durable and fits in my go bag easily. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in function. I've found using it as a hoe the most useful for clearing the area of rocks for where my tent goes and digging a hole for a firepit. It has several small features that I personally didn't find much use for with the exception of the serrated edge that works as a saw in a pinch. It also works well for pulling up stakes as long as you have the exposed head. Happy camping!

I ordered this shovel to use on backpacking camping trips to have in case I need it. It is very solidly made -- you won't have to worry about the metal bending -- it is made from a thick steel that should hold up to just about any type of digging you might need to do while you are camping. The price you pay for its solid construction is in the weight of the shovel itself. It's a little heavier than I would have hoped for backpacking, but I still take it because it is worth it to have it for any digging/chiseling I need to do. I love having a nail puller on it, too -- of all the added features cut into the shovel head, I think that is probably the most valuable. Despite the weight, the shovel does pack down fairly small and attaches to the outside of my backpack so it is easy to access when it is needed. Even if you don't use it for camping, it would still be great to keep in the car!

Got this on sale for a very decent price. I have bad soil in my backyard, they are clay like with some rocks and stones. This shovel is very sharp, the little tooth on the side help me to dig holes easier in my garden.

There is nothing cheap, flimsy or questionable about this shovel: roots and rocks...no problem. It is not the lightest shovel but will likely outlast all the other types. You can swing away and stomp on it with confidence, but be careful, as it is a dangerous weapon.

The build quality, functionality, sturdiness, weight, and carrying pouch are of fantastic quality. The sharpened edges make sure the little shovel, made like a tulip bulb digger, with measurements on the side and everything, make this tool a fine digging implement. There's even a nice rolled edge to put the edge of your shoe on it to get more force for digging. This shovel is an outstanding value for the money! Buy one.
