Plastic seems to be pretty soft, cheaply made plastic. I just got it in so I can’t say how it will actually perform. The seems where the plastic is molded together seems like it may not last real long. It’s definitely not what I had in the army. For the money I guess it’s not that bad.. I think I’ll probably spend a bit more money and get one a little better.

No weird flavours when drinking from this, so that's good. Everything is good quality and I use it all the time when outdoors. My only issue is that when you fill the canteen with water (especially if you fill it up almost full), it weighs down a lot on the belt (if you use the belt) and that causes the stitching to give out a bit. It hasn't fully came off, but the stitching does wear down pretty fast (especially if used in conjunction with lots of physical movement while wearing it).
