I have a bay window that I needed to hang lace curtains across. I tried to install the rod above and over the windows, and it really looked funky because the windows bow outwards from the room. Plan B worked well.

I got these to hang my clothes on to dry after I wash them. I live in a small apartment and no room for a washer and dryer. So I just have a washer. I installed these above my tub on either end. Then have a dowel rod that I place in it when I do a load of clothes and take it back down when clothes are dry. Easy patch when I move. Strong enough to hold the weight of wet clothes and won't stretch like a cord.
