I've been gardening for many years, and need about 5 or 6 timers to cover all my garden areas at the right time with the correct amount of water. So, I have gone through many, many timers from many different manufacturers. In fact, I've left a lot of review at Amazon over the years for a lot of them. With this timer, I could believe the manufacturer read all my reviews and paid attention, because this timer has none of the faults I've found in others.First, it is well made and well designed. The case is heaver then most, and they use different colors of plastic (instead of a cheap embossed icon) so all the options are really easy to read. The most important thing to know is that it's 100% intuitive. Just look at the photo on the Amazon page and you'll know exactly how to program it without reading any instructions. But, if you do have any questions, they include an excellent instruction booklet with large, easy to read type and good illustrations. But you'll never need it.It uses a 12 hour clock instead of (as some) a 24 hour clock which makes programing it faster and easier - especially if you're not used the military time. The buttons are easy to push even with my big fat fingers wearing gardening gloves, and the display is large and easy to read. Ditto turning the dial. The battery cover is secure, but easier than most to remove and replace. And one more thing. The outside of the box (with phone numbers and website) has a side panel that give instructions on keeping it working between seasons, and instructions on how to "reset" it the following summer if it doesn't work due to the solenoid getting stuck if evaporated water causes it to do that. I'm sure this is the way most, if not all, timers work, but this is the first time I've EVER seen this clear explanation of how this might happen and how to correct it. Color me impressed!Let me just finish by saying if you've never used a garden timer, you have no idea of how much time it's going to give back to you - to say nothing of taking off for a vacation and not coming back to a dead garden.I just love, love, love this timer!

In-ground irrigation systems are nice, but just because you don’t have one doesn’t mean you have stand out in your yard with a hose in your hand... or worse, leave a running hose unattended to dump thousands of gallons of water on the ground when a few dozen would have sufficed. So long as you have an available hose bib and a programmable timer--like this one from QUOBAS--you can automate. The QUOBAS timer is battery-powered, so no nearby mains service is required. The internal clock allows you to specify the time the irrigation cycle will start, the frequency (every 1 to 12 hours, or every 1 to 7 days), and the duration (1 to 240 minutes).Timers of this type are typically powered either by AA batteries, or by the smaller AAA batteries. As the former are longer-lived, I prefer timers that use double-A cells, and that’s the way this product’s designers decided to go. Good on them. (By the way, if you are new to bib timers, may I suggest using lithium batteries? Lithium AA cells last a long time, and should you neglect them, they will never leak and corrode your timer electronics, as their alkaline counterparts are apt to do.This product is, in many aspects, similar to products you can find in the big-box “depot” stores, but with two attractive differences: First, the price-point on this device is a bit below the local prices here and second, the fittings on this unit are actual brass (as opposed to the usual plastic.)For now, there is little about this product I can find fault with.

DESCRIPTION: Sprinkler Timer, Programmable Hose Timer with Brass Inlet & Outlet, Water Timer for Garden Hose with Rain Delay/Automatic/Manual Watering System, Digital Drip Irrigation Timer for Yard, LawnPROS: I like rain-delay timers. The brass fittings are nice. It’s nice they give you plumber’s tape (aka, Teflon tape).CONS: None.WHAT’S IN THE BOX: The timer, Teflon tape, and a user manual.REVIEW: Spring is right around the corner and these timers are always one of the first projects I set up. Here’s the thing about these kinds of timers. It seems inevitable that they go bad. You can try and fix them, but I’ve found they last about 3 years. I can’t blame them too much since where I have them, they’re hit by the sun and rain all spring, summer, and fall. Our UV is pretty strong in Colorado, so I end up getting a few new ones every couple years. I usually have 5 going all summer long. And typically, every day or every other day depending on how hot it gets. Also, I’ve tried timers that have as many as four ports. They are expensive and I’ve found it better to just have four separate timers instead of the one. Plus, those four-port timers are very large and unwieldy.I use these mostly for drip watering. But I do have one that goes to a sprinkler. It’s nice this one has a screen on the inlet. Most do and for good reason. I’ll say it’s nice that this unit has brass fittings. I’ve used the plastic ones and found them to crack over time. There’s no fixing a cracked plastic fitting. It’s easy to set these and forget about them. But I wouldn’t exactly do that. At least once a week it’s good to be sure they are watering your potted plants or lawn. There’s nothing worse than to notice things when they are dying. This timer takes two AA batteries. Don’t skimp here and don’t use last years batteries (use those in your TV remote or something like that.) The battery compartment is pretty typical in that it’s water resistant and a bugger to get off. You just have to pry it with your fingers. This is a perfect unit to add into my line-up this year.AMAZON PHOTO/DESCRIPTION ACCURACY: The photos and description are accurate.VALUE/VERDICT: If you have pots or travel during the summer, timers like this are a life saver! At $29.99 I’d say that’s a fair price.
