I've owned two of these units for 2 years, and they have worked flawlessly where others have failed. I finally replaced the last traditional programmable valve with this purchase. As before, the setup was quick and easy. Since the device is Bluetooth only, you must have a gateway device to use. When adding this valve, be sure to use the Add Device option AFTER selecting the gateway, rather than on the Home screen. Also, be sure the gateway device is functioning properly before attempting to pair the valve. Bluetooth range is reliable, and covers at least 30 feet even through the exterior wall, but consider where you place the gateway to allow a reasonable distance to the valve. The water metering feature is helpful to accurately predict watering needs, and really helps with one of my use cases, where I use one of my valves to maintain our pool's water level. Knowing how much water you are adding in the hot summer months helps manage chemical demand and prevent accidental over-filling. This also makes it easy to keep up with pool levels if you are on vacation!

Overall, the product works as it should. I am able to connect my sprinklers and set timers with multiple times and days and let it do the work for me. Set up is really simple however wifi set up was a pain for me, because this device only connects to 2.4 ghz and not 5ghz. I had to dig up an older wifi router just to connect the timer to my network. However, once connected, haven’t had any issues after.I wish the app had a widget so that I can easily access the manual function in case I want to run the sprinklers outside of my scheduled times. Finally, it is worth noting that when the timer is done and it shuts off, it’s an abrupt shut off rather than a slow close which caused the pipes to shutter due to the sudden change in water pressure. To remedy this, I’ve had to purchase a water hammer arrestor separately and attach it to my DIY irrigation system. I wish there was a way that the timer could physically slow down the shut off function to prevent potential damage to the pipes. All in all, I think it’s a great product aside from the minor issues mentioned.

You can not go wrong purchasing this Irrigation Timer. Took it out of the box, connected it to the Wifi, programmed in my cycles and connected to the tap. Very easy to set up and install and has worked flawlessly ever since I turned it on. Would definitely purchase again. 😁

You can only turn on the water for 1 hour in manual mode. Ridiculous. From their support team:"We are sorry to inform you that for the TTV103WRF, the maximum duration for manual watering is limited to 1 hour. After this period, you will need to manually turn it on again if you wish to continue watering."Buyer beware!

I recently purchased the RAINPOINT WiFi Water Timer, and overall, I’m very satisfied with its performance. The device itself is well-designed and offers a range of smart features that make managing my garden’s irrigation system incredibly convenient.Pros: • User-Friendly Interface: The app is intuitive and easy to navigate, allowing me to set up and control the watering schedule from anywhere. • Versatility: It supports various watering schedules, making it suitable for different types of plants and weather conditions. • Reliability: Once set up, the timer works flawlessly, ensuring my garden gets the right amount of water at the right times.Cons: • WiFi Installation: The only downside was the initial WiFi installation. It took a bit of effort to get the device connected to my home network. The instructions could be more detailed, and the process could be simplified.Despite the minor hiccup with the WiFi setup, the RAINPOINT WiFi Water Timer has proven to be a valuable addition to my garden. It’s a great investment for anyone looking to automate their irrigation system with a smart, reliable solution.

I have been using a series of the Rainpoint TTV103WRF timers for the last 2 years, and this has been my experience. The wifi hub is pretty easy to set up (if you have a dual-band or 2.4Ghz wifi router). The timers are also easy to connect to the hub. The app for controlling the timers is simple to set up and intuitive to use. I currently have 4 timers set up across 4 raised beds, and I love being able tailor each timer to meet the watering needs of each bed. The app tells you how much water was used on the most recent irrigation session, which can help you notice if there's a problem (like setting it to run for 10 hours instead of 10 minutes or forgetting to turn on the water at the faucet). I can also access and control the timers when I'm away from home since the hub connects to the wifi router, which is very handy if you need to be away for several days and want to verify that everything is still working. You can also set rain delays for each timer for up to 72 hrs.The wifi hub also has an outlet built into it that can be controlled through the app. I haven't really made use of this yet, but I could see myself plugging my grow lights into the outlet and using that to control the on/off schedule rather than the mechanical timer that I'm currently using.NOTE: There have been 2 versions of the timers that I've used which had the same model number (and 2 versions of the wifi hubs that also have the same model number), and they are NOT interchangeable. 1 had a plastic connector and 1 had a brass connector. The timer with the brass connector is the newer version and will not connect to the hub that comes with the plastic connector timer. The plastic connector timer can connect to either version of the wifi hub. I could find a difference between the different versions of the hubs, so I labeled them "plastic" and "brass" (both on the hubs and in the app) based on which timer it came with so I could know which was which. There is also a hard limit of 4 timers that can connect to each hub. If you try to connect a 5th, the hub just doesn't recognize that it's trying to connect. But you can connect more timers if you have another hub, and all of the timers can be accessed at the same time through the app regardless of which hub they're connect to.The durability of the timers has been hit or miss, but the customer service is great! I've had 3 timers that failed (1 would burn through a set of batteries in a couple days, 1 would repeatedly lose connection, and 1 said that it had a leak), so I contacted their customer service (service@rainpointus.com) and they replaced each of them at no cost. You need to make sure you have the timer model number, timer serial number, timer lot number, Amazon order number, and maybe some pictures or a video showing what the problem is. When the first timer failed, I thought that I was going to be replacing these on semi-regular basis and I was wondering if I needed to switch to a different brand/product, but once I learned how great their customer service is, I'm going to use these timers on all of my gardens going forward.
