Bring the convenience of automated watering to your hose-end sprinklers, Drip irrigation system or soaker hose with this rugged, professional grade, easy-to-use 7-day digital timer/controller. Sophisticated functions provide worry-free watering convenience and rugged dependability for season-long outdoor use. Simple-to-set 7-day automatic programming provides added watering flexibility for up to 6-hours of watering per cycle, 2-times per day. Extra-large programming dial and readout screen make it easy to set and review watering schedules. During operation the readout screen displays program status such as: next scheduled watering cycle, and time remaining on a current cycle. Program up to 2 watering times per day on any day/days of the week with run time duration up to 6-hours. One-touch "Water Now” and “Cancel Watering” buttons allow user to override programming instantly. “Cancel Watering” feature also acts as a "Rain Delay" allowing selection of up to a 96-hour pause in watering before stored programming resumes. High-flow rate (5–12 GPM) design allows operation of up to (5) Impact Sprinklers! Ideal for use with all Rain Bird hose-end sprinklers and kits. Features a rugged plastic female coupler and Garden Hose Threaded (GHT) outlet to help protect against breakage from pulling. Intended for indoor or outdoor use with cold water only. Working water pressure: 15 psi minimum to 90 psi maximum. Working temperatures: Keep from freezing; 110° F maximum. Operates on two AA batteries (not included). **Very Important** To prevent catastrophic damage always remove timer from water supply when freezing temperatures are expected. **To provide leak-proof performance, gasket located inside the inlet collar must be fully tightened against hose bib or hose fittings. I recently purchased this Rain Bird single timer, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance! The people that designed this really thought about how to make this simple. It does exactly what I need. Set the time and date. Set what time(s) you want it to turn on. Set what days you want it to turn on. Set how long it should run for. Turn it on auto and you are done. The only other button is a manual override on/off which helps me test the system and see what parts need replacing without affecting the schedule. It takes AAs that last at least a season so cheap to operate. I now run 4 of these to cover different areas. Only issue is 2 in a riw showed up with cracked LCD screens probably due to some errant package tossing en route. Just look them over when they arrive. Once they are mine they are solid.

I'm sure the unit is good quality, but unfortunately I did not realise it has USA-specific GHT (garden hose thread) female intake and male output threads. This means it is not compatable with any Australian hose fittings, which are all BSP (British Standard Pipe) threaded. I tried shopping around for adaptors and various workarounds, but nothing worked without significant leakage. I bought this on the Australian Amazon site, and although I did know it was coming from the USA, I did not think to check for thread differences. Lesson learned. If you are in Australia, don't buy this product. There is a cheaper version (with plastic, not brass fittings) that comes with BSP threads and will work with Australian hose fittings, it's available at lots of local retailers. Just a shame that this 'premium' version does not seem to be available here.

This is not your typical garden hose you will find at a big box store. Indeed, the level of quality in this hose with 100% EDPM rubber is unbeatable, and hard to find except on Amazon. The high flow is due to the larger inside diameter of the hose than the common hose. This increases the volume of water. You will find the pressure with a good nozzle is extremely strong -- almost strong enough to "pressure wash" sidewalks, pool decks and more with the right nozzle. The rubber quality is exceptional, making the hose easier to handle and avoid kinks. The only drawback is the weight of the hose should you require moving the entire hose on a regular basis. Consider buying the length you will actually need to control its weight, or buy two shorter lengths instead of a heavier longer hose. This will also avoid kinks. This is a "lifetime" hose.

This purchase was my second. The first worked fine for probably 5 years to water my garden several days per week. Worked far better than me remembering to turn the water back off.But then --The design is meant to fail safe. If the battery dies or whatever, the timer fails to turn on. Awesome idea.Mine however failed ON! The rubber diaphragm had a groove worn in it from the plastic seat which had a couple burrs on it, and it stuck open with the water running. I got so lucky though because I parked my car on the hose - so unlikely - and my neighbor noticed it slightly on at the wrong time of day and let me know. Given the years of good service, and hopefully unlikely to repeat, I bought the second unit.

This timer was entirely missing the compartment with springs that normally holds the batteries. Because I bought this from Amazon (and did not find the defect until I tried to install the timer after the return date), I got in touch with the Rainbird company, who should, one would think, be ashamed of shipping a product with a missing piece! (And when it arrived, it was entirely enclosed in the heavy plastic packaging it originated in, so no one could have tampered with it.)Rainbird would not make it right. I spent an entire day trying to contact the company, and it was very hard to discover any way to do that. Even their "help" chatbot was dysfunctional.After much effort, I finally got in email contact with a real person. I sent a couple of photos documenting that the part was missing. The person said the company would send a replacement part, but it never arrived. Now I have an expensive timer I can never use. Thanks, Rainbird!I had spent a few hundred dollars on Rainbird products over the summer, but never again.Buyer beware.
