It works fine as long as you only use 1 output. When you use 2 the cable box knocks the sound down from 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus to PCM Stereo and does not identify the TV.

I have a HDMI 1.4 7.1 channel Dolby receiver that doesn't work with 4k. With this unit I put the EDID to 4k7.1, turned on the downscaler for port 2 to the receiver and like magic it works again. Ideal if you have a single video source like a Fire TV stick that you would like 4K video from without upgrading your receiver.

Just want to confirm with another reviewer that this works with bypassing the HDCP that PlayStation 3's seem to have. I no longer get a black screen when trying to use this with my Morph 4k upscaler. Really looking forward completing my PS3 backlog on my LG C1 TV.

My digital photo portfolio in my computer is important to me. It runs through my TV. I major upgraded in the living room. The 17 y/o hdtv still fine, so my goal was to put my photo gallery in the kitchen with a splitter. Same with my movie disc player. IT WORKED! IT WAS GREAT! I ordered the second one. Then it stopped working. I replaced the second tv (43" 4k panasonic, $119) & so many 8k cables to get this done. Now I see an upgrade is needed? OK? I contact ezco - NO REPLY. Its after return date from shipping delays, so I'm SOL?

Finally!! I've been struggling to figure out how to play on my Xbox at 120 FPS and stream 60 fps at the same time. My capture card can not pick up 120 FPS. This splitter/descaler works perfectly sending 1080 120 hz to my gaming monitor and 1080 60 hz to my capture card.

I needed this device to split my HDMI signal from my Nvidia Shield to my Samsung TV and my Yamaha receiver as my Yamaha does not support DHCP 2.2 nor does it have HDR pass-through. Originally I had my Nvidia Shield connected to the Samsung and then used the optical cable from the Samsung to pass the audio to the Yamaha but it was limited to 5.1 and it refused to change surround sound modes on it's own such as DTS, DD, etc. Now I have the best of both worlds, my Samsung is getting a direct HDR high quality video signal and my Yamaha is able to get its own audio feed directly and can now decode the surround sound mode automatically. So far I have had 0 issues with this device and it saved me from spending money on a new audio receiver. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has a similar situation where their older hardware isn't playing nice with one another, giving them both their own signal fixes a lot of problems.

Finally, a HDMI splitter that says it will handle downscaling and ACTUALLY DOES! I have purchased several to downscale a 4K signal to 1080p. Although they say they will, they do not. But this one actually DOES! Not only that, if you input a 4K single you have one output 4K and the other 1080P or both 4K or both 1080P. How nice to finally find a splitter that says it will handle downscaling and actually does! If you are looking for a splitter capable of downscaling, this is the one, do not hesitate to buy it!

This unit was hard to find. I went hunting for one that could support HDR on 4K TV when the other display needed to stay in 1080p SDR. The EDID modes together with the downscaling make this possible. In practical terms the color on the HDR passthrough looks washed out and not that great, but got to hand it to the designers because at least it technically works! Cannot say the same of any other HDMI splitters I've tried. While I probably give up on trying to use HDR passthrough, the downscaling works fine. Amazing if you want to work/play on a 4K main display and connect the other to a secondary device running OBS, etc. Keep something pointy handy for those little switches that's all I will say. ;)

Basic review:Bought this for my Yamaha RX-A1080 and it's working perfectly. It took me all of 3 minutes to set up, and it is exactly what i needed. 5/5 would recommend.Technical Review:My problem may be rather unique, or maybe not.But this is the specific and technical review wish i could have seen before placing my order.I hope it helps someone else.My setup has a living room TV that's 4K and a kitchen TV that's a cheap 1080p which i wanted to always be matched. My AV receiver is a newly bought RX-A1080 from Yamaha, who's dual HDMI outputs were supported to take care of this for me.However the RX-A1080 has two problems. It's dual HDMI out is a mirrored HDMI out (as expected) so when i connect my 4k TV and my 1080p TV the signal is downgraded to 1080p for both of them. It's second problem is that it refused to see any of my other EDID emulators to trick it into sending 4k to both and kept flickering.Additionally my 1080P TV being cheaper, hates trying to downscale and usually just says "resolution not supported" when fed 4k signal through an EDID emulator. This device solved both problems perfectly.i used my laptop to test to make sure it was being seen as a 4K display (which it was) when it's EDID switch was set to 4k and it sent a 4k signal.Connecting my laptop to the HDMI in, and the Kitchen TV to HDMI out 2 (I left HDMI 1 empty and not plugged in) I flipped the switch to downscale the output.and boom, as far as my computer thought, 4k content was being output (including tiling my wallpaper as it does on any 4k display) but the TV was happily displaying the signal with no issues. When plugged into the Yamaha (which had been having a fit with the of EDID emulators) it worked perfectly and instantly.I have not attempted to use it as a splitter since I only needed the EDID and downscaling off an already split signal, but I'd assume it would work perfectly in that capacity as well.
