Let's see I tried to register this product on their site as they asked but it's not on their list of products for registration. So here we go. Not a very good sign to start with. If I have any issues with this unit I will follow up on updating my review. So far the only thing I have found that it does not like and I'm not sure if it's the unit or the television but I have a VGA to HDMI conversion on my laptop. It'll work on the monitor. The television does not like it and I get no signal from the Matrix box.

I had been wanting an HDMI matrix switch for a while, so I was excited to see that OREI was offering one. I have two TVs over in the media area and one is typically only used for viewing security camera feed while the other is being used for Xbox (used for games and video streaming apps). Then we also have a desktop computer hooked up to the TV that we can switch to when we need. Now that I am using the matrix switch, I can easily move the Xbox over to the secondary smaller security cam TV and use the desktop PC on the big screen, or use the desktop on the smaller screen while continuing to watch TV on the bigger screen. I even hooked up a second desktop to the matrix that can be used now as well. This has been a very nice upgrade to the media setup that has made things more flexible and convenient. The only thing I wish it had was support for 4k@120hz, but I'm still loving this thing regardless.

The OREI HDMI Matrix Switch is an excellent solution for managing multiple audio and video outputs. It supports up to 4K resolution at 60Hz, making it ideal for home theaters or gaming setups. The included remote control adds convenience, allowing for easy operation. The setup process is intuitive, and the switch functions seamlessly without any lag or loss of picture quality. This device is a reliable choice for those needing a central hub for multiple HDMI-enabled devices.

I got this for 2 reasons.1. I have more devices I want to connect to my TV than I have existing HDMI inputs for and2. I have had an issue where my TV will randomly switch to another input with a stronger signal, even if I don't want it to.I was able to solve both issues with this device. Now, all the pertinent devices are sharing the same input, so there's nothing to prompt the TV to switch inputs (other than me selecting it). And, I can connect 3 additional devices now.My only complaints are, as others have said, no future proofing, as it maxes at 4K, but I don't need that now, so it's not really a complaint. I'm also disappointing that it only throughputs at 60HZ and my TV has a 120HZ native refresh rate, which means devices connected through this switch cannot utilize the TV's max refresh rate. This is disappointing, but I am currently able to use this switch to only connect the devices where this is less important. This will suit my needs for the foreseeable future.

I never have high expectations for anything relating to HDMI and multiple devices, but so far this is working perfectly. It’s small, requires only USB power at low wattage, so you can plug it into almost any USB source.Initially, it was a little intimidating with the DIP switch programming, which I still don’t quite understand. I just set the DIP switches to 4K and so far it’s working with both my 4K TV and my 1080P Nreal glasses as outputs, so that’s a win! I’m running a Thinkpad dock, an Xbox 360, and a Lightning plug for iOS devices as inputs, and all three work perfectly. The remote is simple, with two banks of buttons, one for each output, the four buttons in each corresponding to each of the four inputs. My only quip is that the very small size of the remote makes it nearly impossible to put labels on anything; it’s hard to remember the combination of inputs and outputs, A1, B3, etc... Otherwise, I haven’t had any issue with switching outputs, or even outputting one signal to both outputs. The remote does need to have good line of sight, It doesn’t have to be very far off axis before it won’t pick up the signal. You can also cycle through the sources with the buttons on the front of the box.It also has two each of 3.5mm and optical audio out, though I have not used these. There is a separate button and plug for those who have a sound bar that they’d like to output to separately (though I believe the sound bar will only work with output A).One thing I like very much about it is that my computer dock will not recognize it as a monitor when the switcher is powered off. There is no “phantom” monitor being picked up by the dock, which was a major PITA when I was having to plug and unplug cables manually because my TV would always be read as an active monitor, even when it was powered off. This is a pretty impressive device, and especially with the optical jacks, excellent value. It’s a great buy even if you aren’t using the audio features.
