How to Use the Desoldering Pump
- Step 1: Press the plunger down until you hear a click sound;
- Step 2: Heat up solder around item to be removed by using a soldering iron;
- Step 3: When the solder is liquid, place the tip of the solder sucker next to the liquid and press press the trigger;
- Step 4: Repeat this process if necessary.
How to Use the Solder Wick
- Step 1: Place the wick over the solder you need remove and then just push the heated soldering iron tip onto the wick;
- Step 2: Remove the wick once the solder has been absorbed;
- Step 3: Cut off the used part of the wick;
- Step 4: Repeat this process if needed.

Product works well for its intended use. Sometimes you will need a stand for a third hand when desoldering with the manual suction.

I bought these suckers with some skepticism due to some of the reviews. After a year and 4 months none of them have failed on me. I just got done using 1 prior to this review. They get the job done and I have used these on a ton of projects from replacing my mouse switches to replacing analog sticks on game controllers and replacing capacitors.I will say that it took me some time to master using a solder sucker in general but once I got the hang of it these things work great. The included desoldering braid is horrible though. but considering the price for 3 suckers that's not a big deal.

These have decent suction, zero jams or cleaning required, and are great value.However, they aren’t very good at removing solder from vias if you’re replacing through hole components. Adding a bit of 3/32” silicone tubing to the tip like some fancier suckers have a totally changed the game though, and made removing solder from vias a total pleasure, no wick required whatsoever.Hot tip - keep the silicone tip short so you can still push solder all the way out when you depress the plunger fully. Super easy to use one-handed, The suction is low and it will take 4 to 5 times to clear a TTH solder joint, They will because they are inexpensive break using for maybe 50 joints. The threads strip and the plunger shoots out. There are larger more powerful desolder tools that cost more, last longer, work better and take more effort to cock. Life is a compromise. These have a place in my go-bag. The desoldering wick is adequate, it is a little skimpy on the impregnated flux.

Works great. No issues with the sucker qnd the wick works well too. Probably did not need a 3 pack but price was the best with the wick.

Wasn't sure what I was buying, I just wanted a cheap solder sucker. took a little getting used to, but now it works well and has been very handy for a number of projects. The wick has not been as helpful (not sure if that is my fault by I have followed tutorial directions to no avail. But the which was kind of a bonus in this package deal. happy with the purchase, I recommend watching tutorials on how to use the sucker. No issues with the plastic tip melting, be sure to empty out solder, which sometimes requires taking apart the pen. The easiest way to clear out solder is using a paperclip.

I didn't really need the desoldering pumps, but also didn't need three spoos of wick, which was the other option I found at the time, plus this was cheaper... so I figured, I'l go ahead and get the one with the pumps... The wick is perfect, and if you've never used is for desoldering... It's a must have. The pumps work well, and are good for removing the larger globs of solder around through-pins. It's a good value for the money.

The tip has walls a bit wide for getting over DIP pins easily, the suction is decent if the tip is perfectly flat on the board and the tip hasn't been too mishappen from getting hot since it seems to be plastic. The wick works if you add flux, but it performs poorly without it. Still it can get the job done, but just takes more work. If doing a lot of desoldering, a desoldering station would be a must

The aluminum tube is pretty thin, and doesn't 100% line up with the blue plastic back. I also have doubts about the white plastic head lasting in the face of heavy use. However, the fact that you get three of them, and that the spring action is reliable makes this a good purchase for anyone looking for a cheap, but effective pump. Also, there is less wick than appears in each roll, so be aware that the main value of this purchase is in the pumps.

Wow! What a great price for this combo set! I could not find this value set on ebay or else where!I love that you get 3 suction pens!Surprisingly, well built... doesnt look like its gonna break in a day or two!The wick is a nice addition to this combo, tiny and cute box it's in, fits anywhere!Very, very nice!
