Finally got around to using this tool and I was amazed at what it did. Worked like a charm and was a whole lot faster and easier than the other ways I tried to desolder things. One thing I learned is that the tip has to be around the wire with the tip close to the circuit board and it will suck the solder out and your component just falls away from the board. If the wire is bent as sometimes is the case, try and straighten it and the use the tool. If you can't get the wire to that point you may have to do it the old fashioned way but for the most part it works great. Some of the really expensive desolders may work on those difficult places but I am very satisfied with this tool.

It works as advertised. The only con is the outside diameter of all the tips are the same which makes it difficult to get to pins close to others in the same row. As others have said, it does spit solder back out on release of the button. You just need to move it away from the work before letting go of the button. After a little practice, it's easy to use.9 months later: It has failed. Reduced to 3 stars.

Makes it easy to remove old soldier. Occasionally the mechanism gets stuck but easy to reset and continue use.

This is my second one. I wore out the first one the vac pump just kept going without pushing the button. The time I have saved on repairs! It had paid for itself after 3 repairs. It has great suction heats up fast does a great job of cleaning out the old solder most parts fall off the PCB boards think I’ll buy another one in case I break this one

I am totally pleased with this. In case you don't know it, but this does NOT have a vacuum pump. It has an automatic instantly resettable quickly. Trust me, it is worth your money. I have been an Electronic Tech for over 50 years so I do know what works and this DOES.

If you manage to get one that works for a while it is great. Heat and suction are good and its easy to use. If you release the button over your board, you risk the removed solder dropping back onto but that can happen with manual ones too. This is the second one that I have gotten. First one lasted for an hour or two of use. Second one actuated once and never returned to work again. I will not be getting a third.

This Desoldering Gun heats up fast and has good suction. Four included tips accommodate all size PCB components. I have only had it a week, but so far I am pleased with the quality and ease of use of this repair tool.

Was a little difficult to get used to at first, but after getting the hang of it and understanding the best ways to use it, it made desoldering items extremely easy.Like other reviews have stated it spits out solder a lot, and if your not careful you end up spitting it on what you're working on. The best way around this that I learned was to after sucking up the solder keep the head up and button pressed down and finally release it onto something like cardboard.for the price it works amazingly well and made desoldering parts that were extremely hard with a manual pump or wick solution possible.
