It was well made and worked as hoped. It sucked solder up as needed.

It works well, but the sides are too smooth. Hard to keep a grip on it. The price could have been better.

This solder sucker would be fine if the Engineer brand sucker didn't exist. I sadly purchased this before knowing the Engineer sucker existed, and after my Frogbro got solder stuck in the nozzle I went ahead and purchased the Engineer, best decision ever. The Engineer is better in every way. First of all, it has way better fit and finish. The major advantages of the Engineer are that it has a beveled button so that it is more comfortable to press, and that its machining quality is way better. This better machining quality of the Engineer has led to less solder getting stuck in the nozzle for me. If you buy both, you can definitely tell the difference. Overall, this product is fine in a vacuum, but it is 100% worth the extra $7 to buy the original rather than the knockoff.

Desoldered a full TKL board with this, came with enough tubing to finish with minimal hiccups (solder would occasionally jam up but easily fixed). Only issue is that the insides have a lot of grease which collects solder and gets gross fast.

Silicon tip has handled my iron at 400 degrees celcius for a few seconds at a time. Suction is good, sucks the solder pretty well. Only complaint is that the plunger occasionally gets stuck while trying to suck. This requires you to push a bit on the plunger again to reset it. Not a major issue, just something of note.

Its a nice product and it works but its a darn slippery little thing! Holding on to it while that little trigger is pressed (to release the suction) is a challenge. I got it in the end, and could use it, but when the plunger releases (and you move your finger to make the release motion) you have to really hang on to the body of this sucker, and there's not much grip on the body to do that. I do like the product, but I'm sure there could be better ways to improve this design. Pressing the sucking release trigger (that has an awkward placement) while holding the body (with the same hand) is the main issue. This design is worth the investment but it not prefect. As for suction. There's lots, but you have to get the silicon tip in very tight (to make a seal) and be directly on top of the liquified solder "of course" and do this in one smooth motion too (after you remove your hot iron). Then when you press the trigger (on the sucker) you need to maintain your grip on the Suckers body quite firmly (because as you move a finger to press the suction release trigger) it snaps a bit (when it sucks) And that action can move the sucker tip "off the target" and it'll break the suctions seal (over the liquified solder) and then it doesn't suck anything up (and of course you have to reheat) This sucker works, but it does take a bit of practice to use it smoothly (especially over fine solder points) I recommend anyone who hasn't used one like this before, to practice the "suction release" motion over and over until it feels comfortable and then go to "your task" to avoid having to heat and reheat your connections needlessly. It can also suck up circuit board "eyelettes" too (or anything else floating in the hot solder). So get in fast, be accurate with the tip placement, get that tight seal over the solder, then release the suction trigger as smooth as you can, and then get out. Its a great tool but as with all tools it has a little learning curve.

Bought this to suck up some solder while working on controllers. Worked great and didn't need any of the extra tube for this go round as the tip held up to the heat just fine. It has a nice, solid feel to it and a sleek design.

This is a very nice little tool. Suitable for one-handed operation. I'm a newbie who has just started soldering for a month and there are always some mistakes. This tool helped me with many revisions. Powerful suction, easy to operate, and this desolder comes with a longer tube in which you can cut, which lasts a long time. Would definitely recommend this product for use with all kinds of soldering irons.
