This is the 3rd type of solar charger I have. This is compact, but provides sufficient power to keep the battery charged. I now have a solar charger for each of my utility trailers that have 12v batteries. The only thing I didn't like (a small complaint) is it didn't come with a cable with ring terminals to permanently connect to the battery. My other 2 did. Easy enough to make your own.

Solar-Battery-Charger-Maintainer Dump-Trailer-Battery-Charger Battery-Maintainer Trailer-Battery-Charger : 10W Solar Panel Kit MPPT Charge Controller for 12V /24V Gel AGM Lead-Acid LiFePO4I ordered this solar charger on June 6th, arrived June 18th, so very slow delivery, shipped via USPS, left at our front gate, not a light weight, was packed in a pretty durable shipping box and the box that the manufacture wrapped it in must have an entire roll of tape holding it together.I ordered this solar charger to maintain a 12 volt flood battery that will power numerous drip irrigation systems, two exhaust fans, grow lights and an automatic roof vent for a lean to greenhouse that I am having constructed in two months. So this solar charger is going to sit for the next two months then will be used to maintain the 12 volt flood battery that will be the backup for almost all electronics in my greenhouse.I did open the heavily taped cardboard box, inspected this solar charger, did note fit and finish is nice, no sharp edges or burrs. I don’t mess with AC or DC, have a friend that is my go to when dealing with anything that can give me a good jolt. I did read a review by a couple individuals that are comfortable with electronics, and will heed their warning that SAE polarity was not noted and that I must use the polarity adapter to ensure correct wiring. The instructions are a little confusing and I do consider myself a techie and am very comfortable around computers and electronics, just don’t enjoy messing with anything that has to do with AC or DC power (ha ha I just hooked up two landscape transformers this afternoon). Mounting is not an issue since the lean to greenhouse is being custom built by a very talented General Contractor. He constructed my garden shed that looks like a Japanese Tea House, he was the carpenter instructor at the local college so knows his stuff.I like that it works on 12 and 24 volt batteries, and different battery types, am hoping it will last a long time and that the output is very stable. This is not a cheap solar charger but the suggested MSRP is reasonable given the capability of this solar charger. Right now, am basing my review on what I see and what I am reading but not on performance because it will not “go live” for at least two months, at which time I hope to revisit my review and provide an update on performance. I am giving this solar charger a 3 Star rating, will adjust accordingly once I can set it up and evaluate performance.

The solar panel this comes with is much heavier than it looks, it has a metal back and is quite rugged. There are corner holes for mounting, but no hardware or suction cups are included to do so, you have to figure that out for yourself. This gives an unusually high voltage, unlike a standard 19-volt panel this gives nearly 44 volts in full sun. Under bright midday sun measuring the panel directly I got 43.4 volts, and 0.29 amps, which given volts times amps equals watts comes to 12.59 watts, just a little better than rated. What I didn't like about the panel is that it's cord doesn't show you which SAE polarity is positive and which is negative- and to my surprise, it is wired backwards for connecting to the included charge controller! You need to use the one polarity adapter they give you to connect the panel the right way, so you'd better hope you don't need it for the battery cable end. That was just frustrating, frankly. The charge controller itself is excellent, and a proper MPPT type, too. The amps coming from the panel are only about 0.29, but when hooked up to the controller the amp current rose to 0.62 as the controller converted the excess volts into amps like it's supposed to. You can select lead acid, gel, calcium and LiFePO4 battery types, and the controller remembers your choice even after it has been disconnected and put away for awhile. The charge controller is excellent. You get a set of alligator clips and a lighter socket plug, so you can hook these up whichever way is best for your battery. The wires of those are VERY thin gauge, though, enough for use with this low-power maintainer, but not good enough to keep for use with anything much else, which is a pity. They're also quite short, I had to use a 6-foot SAE extension cable to actually reach my battery. This does work well, it is really meant to keep a sitting battery from going flat, and not for recharging a low battery, but over a long full day in the sun I did get the 7Ah battery I tested this with from 11 volts up to 13.3, so it does definitely give a nice boost. The solar panel is crazy rugged, and I definitely think it could stand up to the elements better than cheap plastic framed ones in most maintainer kits, but the way the cable is backwards for the controller it came with just really bugs me. The included cables are very thin wire, all you need for this low power set, but nothing more than just that. The charge controller is excellent, really the best part of this. I'd say this is a "good" set, mostly, but it does have a few noteworthy that keep it from being "great".

This comes in so handy, I wish I would’ve gotten it sooner. It’s small, lightweight, convenient & good for travel. We have a lot of different sizes & types of trailers plus 2 rv’s, so we have a lot of batteries to keep up on. We have a large property so most of them aren’t parked in an area that has electricity. This is much easier than removing batteries and being them to the garage for charging while trying to remember which one came from what trailer. All of them are in an area that gets enough sun to use this.

I use this to keep batteries charged in my tool shed. I put the solar panel in the window and it works great for charging or maintenance. I have batteries of several different types and this works great for all of them. Highly recommended.

I recently picked up the 10W Solar Panel Kit with MPPT Charge Controller for my solar lab, and it’s been quite the handy addition. The build quality is solid, with a sturdy aluminum back panel that ensures durability and keeps it from bending or breaking. 🌞Hooking it up was straightforward. I connected a solar controller and some LiFePO4 batteries, and it worked like a charm. The efficiency was impressive, and it maintained the batteries perfectly.Overall, this solar panel kit exceeded my expectations in quality and performance. It’s a fantastic tool for anyone needing a reliable battery maintainer. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
