I bought this to clear snow from my solar panel patio. Finally had snow I had to remove, already assembled the snowjoe when I got it two months ago, so I was already ready to go. With only one extension on and only clearing maybe one row of lower panels I can already tell this is not a well made tool. It’s supposed to wheel under the snow, extend the blue material under it so when you pull back the snow comes off with it. Did an ok job of it but left a few inches that will take days to melt off, but that’s not even my biggest gripe with this cheaply made product. I got cold doing outside chores by this point so I decided to roll back up the tarp and do another pass once I warmed up. I only unrolled maybe 25% of the tarp out and it was impossible to roll back up. They provided a handle that one would think would make it easy, however at the slightest bit of misalignment, the little handle just spins and you still have all this tarp out, all plastic made crap that already doesn’t work. Really fun fussing with this in 30 degrees, but can only imagine how much fun this would be at -2 degrees which is the temps over the next few days. Even after taking the thing apart so I could bring the tarp section inside I still had to play with it and ended up rolling it up by hand, because again, the cheap plastic handle basically can’t handle the slightest resistance. I’d rather figure out how to get my gas snowblower on the roof to clear them at this point, but that kinda defeats the purpose of solar panels. Don’t waste your money on this garbage, no option for refund I can see because it’s been too many days, but I can assure you if you are trying to be prepared, find a product with a better return policy. What a waste of money.

Poles bent under the strain of their own weight once they bend it’s hard to take them apart then the pipe kinks and snaps in half. More crap to buy 100 times and fill the landfill quicker

I have used snow rakes, you know - the aluminum ones you drag the snow off your roof with. I have gone onto the roof and shoveled the snow off. I have never found an "easy" way to get the snow off my roof - until I used my Snow Joe Roof Rake. The Snow Joe Roof Rake doesn't require you to Rake the snow off. You just push the rake up and the snow slides down the slippery slope created by the plastic "magic carpet". I was able to complete the entire house in about 1/10th of the time it would have taken to use the conventional snow rake or to shovel. The most I had to remove was about 18" and it worked beautifully. I imagine it would get more difficult if one let the snow build up higher than 18" but even so, this will be significantly easier than the conventional snow rake or shoveling. It is also safer since 1. You don't have to strain as hard to get it up and the snow down (vs. conventional snow rake) and 2. You don't have to get up on the roof (vs. shoveling). What a great product.

The main problem is that the 4 extension pieces are cut incorrectly and none of them will attach to the roller section. They will attach to each other, but not to the roller. Only the handle section will attach and that needs be the last section. I'm hoping to get someone to just cut about 1/8" off one of the extensions so it will fit, but for now, this is less that 6' long. Not that helpful. I'm able to use is to break up ice dams at the edge of the roof but that's it. Also the fabric does not roll up easily and can be quite frustrating. It's a cool idea, but very poor execution. Big waste of money. Unfortunately, I didn't attempt to use it until long after returns had expired.

Doesn't work its way to the bottom, the cutting edge is to blunt so it rides up on the snow.

I am sûre it’s a great product but not for me. So after full assembly it’s extremely difficult to manually lift it into place onto the roof. It’s heavy. you need the strength of hercules to maneuver it back and forth through the snow. The roll of material constantly unrolls and get caught on everything. Like I said only the strong and it’s a shame because it is well made except for the roll of material.

It kinda works with enough pressure but you have to insert a roll of tarp in the snow to cut it, makes no sense to me and it keep unrolling so it s problematic.

I was skeptical about this device because the videos looked too good to be true but after I got it and tried it out it works just as shown. We had about two feet of snow on our roof, and this carved it off in about six-inch-tall slices. The fabric slider works well but it is a little bit of a chore to roll it back up when you're finished. It didn't seem to be very sturdy but after you start using it you realize that it doesn't need to be. It won't carve off the snow if it has sat long enough to compress into ice but if you use it on fresh, soft snow it works like a champ.

This works it was snow from about a month back that we were getting off. We just took jabs small ones because it was packed down. But so happy we found this no one has to go on the roof now. We cleaned off the chicken coop too. It worked great. So glad we did it's been snowing for the last week. The pool was tight if 1 didn't fit I put on the next 1 they all got to gether just fine. So much safer that being on the roof. When it's all together it is kinda of heavy I'm sure there's easier was of getting it on your roof we did have a car in our way. It will take 2 ppl if not that strong to put it up on the roof. After that I believe anyone could do it. Your arms do get tired I would say to get out and do it don't wait. I ordered this after the snow fall so we didn't have it in time but next year I don't see any snow on my roof we will be on top of it.

This unit is quite well designed. Assembled easily, has a good reach. You still have to put done effort into the job and if you're smart you'll do the roof a couple of times rather than waiting till you have huge pile that is hardening.Too bad it had to be made in China when it was likely designed in America.

Parts didn’t seem to be made to proper specifications. It would be hard to wind the fabric back up after use since it seems wider then the spool. I think it would work best on new fallen snow on a steeper roof. It was difficult to slide under the snow that had been on my roof awhile.
