I am surprised how I can handle the rake. It's very sturdy for pieces together being put together to get the length needed.

This rake works well if the snow is light and powdery. If the snow is wet or heavy, it won't work well. Also, the long handle tends to make handling the rake very difficult. I wish the handle would be telescopic so you can adjust it. Other than that, it works well.

Bought this device to clear out some valleys on my roof when the snow was deeper than usual. Worked great. Test it out on just general snow clearing from the roof and was super easy and exactly as described.

Easy to assemble, use, and store. Use gloves, especially when first opening the box and handling the fiberglass poles, to protect yourself against fine fiberglass splinters. The manufacturer provides great support by selling accessories and spare parts directly.

Workes good on soft snow. Could make a better way to wind up. Worked well for what we wanted.

This product isn't cheap but it does work much better than the traditional snow rakes that I have used. It is well built but it does do best directly after it snows. You will work a lot harder if it is crusted over for several weeks after a snow storm. I would highly reccomend it.

We recently moved to a more rural area and parts of our roof got 3 feet of snow during the last storm. We were concerned with the amount of snow on our sunroof roof and our entrance. I am 5'4" and 117 lbs and I was able to do most of the work by myself. My husband did have to help once I got to more challenging areas, but I think those were areas where I was trying to reach super high, and the rake was fully extended. We also ordered this product after the snow storm, so by the time we received it the snow had hardened and it has snowed again a few more times. So maybe next time we will use it inmediately and I get the feeling it will be even easier. I highly recommend it.

Let first say that this method works well with a few exceptions. Assembly was easy and everything just snaps together. The only thing to watch for are the wheels. Mine were already on the assembly but it appears the screws were not tightened because I lost one wheel with 10 minutes of use. I noticed the other wheel was almost off as well. I had to make a home repair to get it working again. My roof consisted of about one foot of snow that had melted and froze again and then another foot of powdery snow. The tool works excellent on the powdery snow but will not work well on snow that has become hard and icy. Another consideration is that you must have clearance on the ground to be able to run the pole back and forth. IF you have any obstruction in the way its going to be difficult if not impossible. I found the pole provided to be too short by one length so I added an old shovel handle which solved my problem, Another issue I had is that the pole became very bendy. I could have sworn it was fasirly stiff at first use but it eventually got so bendable that I could not lift the head of the tool. In the end it did a pretty good job but I would have paid more for a higher quality product because the method works.

Having the combo package gives the option of cutting the heavier snow in chunks to come down the tarp or to use the rake head to rake down the loose snow from the roof or loosen some of the chunks to rake down the roof. Both attachments are strong and seem to be holding up well. Since some of our roof is quite high, we also purchased the extensions to reach the peaks of the lower sections or the eaves of the higher sections. This allows for breakup or prevention of some of the ice dams.

Works well however the reach is too short. In my case in the back I have a rather high patio therefore I can reach the roof quite far. However my front distance to roof is much higher therefore I can only clear snow for a few feet unless I use a ladder making the whole job much less convenient and perhaps a bit dangerous. Delivering 20 feet as advertised would have been a significant improvement. Furthermore rolling up the vinyl once the job is done is quite cumbersome.

Received the box... Unboxed everything...everything was correct except the POLE ARE 4' NOT 5' long.... so its 16' total not 20' like the description said... Im very unhappy because of that... I needed 20' not 16' I will contact seller if nothing move I return the shovel.**** Seller accomodate me and sent 4' pole extension to get the 20' total like the description of the item. The Avalanche itself work as advise... very easy and fast to remove snow on our roof. I recommend.
