We live in a mobile home and ice gathered on our porch roof which is flat and water was seeping down our kitchen walls. We needed something to remove the ice and somehow stumbled across the roof rake. Worked great.

It’s as good as you would think. Anything 20 feet long is going to be moderately difficult to maneuver overhead, however I felt it was sturdy enough to reach the she of our second story cottage. I really was focused on preventing damming at the edge, so wasn’t looking to do the whole roof. Overall, good quality product and would purchase again knowing that the product design is bound to have reasonable limitations.

I was very happy with how well this rake worked. It was light weight and was easy to control even with all the posts connected. I did not need to use a ladder. I used it to remove snow from my solar panels and it was very smooth.

I have a multi storey multi pitch roof in a show prone area. Due to the age and design of the house, ice damming is an unfortunate side effect that I need to deal with. This tool is very effective at removing mounds of snow quickly. The 5 extension poles provide ample reach to hit multiple storeys and pitches safely from the ground. That said, when fully extended the head weight makes movement challenging and when you add in the weight of snow, it can get difficult. I’m physically capable of swinging it but if you have back or shoulder issues it could be a tad taxing.Overall very happy with this product.

Likes1) no assembly required2) pole extensions are more rigid than other rakes3) wheels reduce friction on the shingles making it easier to pullDislikes1) rubber handle grip does not stay in place . Easily fixed by wrapping tape around the the end of the grip attaching it to the pole

We live in Central Ontario and this winter we have received 13 feet of snow so far this year. This product has worked amazing for the snow on our roof, gazebo, and shed. Most of the snow was fairly heavy and it had no problem cutting through it. Highly recommend

Roof rake is easy to assemble. I've only used three extension poles. It comes with five poles. Light weight and easy to lift up to the roof. Easily pulls snow off the roof and it has little wheels to prevent damage to roof shingles. It helps prevent icicles and ice build up.

I really hope I wasted my money on this. I haven't needed it yet, but where I live the snow seems to be getting deeper each year, thanks to global warming. I really needed it a few years ago ut didn’t have it,, and they have predicted another heavy snow year. It really seems to bet built sturdy and well though out, so I am confident I am prepared.

The simplicity of this tool makes it so effective. Multiple poles allow you to reach pretty high, and the wheels keep the blade moving without snagging. It will not work on heavy wet snow and if you hit an ice ridge it could break, but lighter snow is not problem. I pull fresh snow off of my garage roof and then the snow thrower scoops it up and tosses it up the hill. Perfect.

Overall it seems like a decent product, the wheels should help avoid scratching the roof, but the wall hanger is poorly designed. When 2 handles are put in the rack, they expand and push they tabs so that the next tube to go in won't fit into the rack. A little filing made room for the tube, but with the price of this item, you shouldn't have to modify something out of the box. With this design issues, I hope that the actual rake will work (no snow yet here).

This item was bought to minimize wear and tear on a new and lighter-colored roof, the wheels rolling and reducing blade contact with the asphalt shingles. That part -- without actual use yet -- seems good. What's missing is the added convenience factor of a telescoping handle. I did try putting the Avalanche blade on my preexisting telescoping snow rake handle, but the tubings have different diameters.Maybe there'll be a n Avalanche 2.0.
