Not only does this help give portability to my old Echo Show 5, but the white case/base allows it to better blend in the kitchen, bathroom, or other room with white/light walls and decor.The battery can last about half a day for me since I'm regularly checking it for information and occasionally playing music. Like with any rechargeable device, I try to let it run on battery till there's around 20-25% battery left, then charge it up to around 80%. That will extend the life of the battery.The batteries are not made to be replaceable, but are likely 18650 cells, which could technically be replaced when the originals are depleted.I have some reservations about the strength of the handle, and have read other reviews where it broke, so I still carry the device with a hand under the base just in case.Highly recommended.

After 7 months of only periodic use as a portable baby monitor the battery will not charge properly or turn on my Echo. I have the same device for an Echo Show 8 and it works flawlessly.

After 2 months of using the Type-C charger (the oval hole) to charge the battery base, whatever mechanism is inside the base (the plug) fell into the base, making it impossible to use Type-C charger… Ok, not a big deal, they have two options to charge the base, so we just went back to using the round Echo charger to charge the base. That was great and all until the 6 month mark when that too fell into the base… So now we just have two open holes with no way to reach the female plugs (because they’re rattling around in the plastic base). With no way to access them, we continued to use the silicone case because I liked the (slight) extra protection it offered… That was until today (7 months after I purchased this item) when one of the plastic “bolts” (one either side of the handle) fell off while I was carrying the echo by the handle, resulting in me dropping the echo from about 4’ up on the tile floor.So while the portability of this item is great, the durability is not, I guess you get what you pay for.

Based on what it is used for, it works great! The sound is good. A couple of things I wish were slightly better, the battery would last longer, and it charged faster. All in all it is a great little carrier.
