I purchased this Houlibify Sewing Awl Kit, Portable Awl Tool Stitching Leather Sewing Awl Thread Kit, Leather Sewing Waxed Thread Kit for DIY Leather Sewing Repair Craft to repair a special, old leather coat of my dad's.The one thing I noted is that it appears as if some kits include instructions, and some don't. My kit didn't include any instructions. The most information I have is located on the needle card, which tells what needle to use for certain jobs/fabrics.The thread thickness is perfect for most heavy duty denser leather and canvas materials. I like that there's several to choose from. The awl needs a little assembly, but it's not difficult, and it's very sturdy. This kit has a variety of items which makes it's functionality very versatile. This may be something you wouldn't typically think to purchase unless you have a specific need, but this is one of those items that is unique and is great to have on hand.I feel this well put together kit is a good value for the quality and usefulness.

This Japanese Sewing Awl Kit comes with an awl, two adjustable ring thimbles, six neutral colored threads, a handful of upholstery needles, sewing awl, coated fabric measuring tape, threat snippers, and a manual. Honestly, it's more than what I needed, but I"m pleasantly surprised by, and happy with the quality of all the items in the kit. I tried playing around with the sewing awl for a bot but I definitely have to do some more homework and watch some videos about how to manage it properly. The manual given is rather basic and I get a bit mentally stuck. If anything, I wish it came with a carrying case to keep everything safely together. It's not too big of a deal right now as I'm sure I probably have a bag somewhere to help keep them safe as the package it came in takes up a little bit more space than I'd like. Either way, I'm happy to have it now as I can work on making some journal covers with it and handmade leather goods the next time I get inspired to do so. If anything, I think this would be a great gift for anyone who's big into handmade goods, upholstery, and leather crafts.

I've been dabbling in leatherwork and was wanting some heavy-duty sewing supplies, and this kit is an excellent start without investing too much money into a new hobby. It comes with everything you need to get started, as well as clearly illustrated instructions on how to use the main sewing device. The waxed threads that are included are fantastic and feel so much stronger than your average thread. I've since been able to complete a custom workshop apron that would not have been easily doable with regular sewing implements. It worked perfectly, and now I have the necessary tools to complete other heavy-duty sewing projects moving forward.

I'm happy with this leather sewing kit. It has several different sizes and types of needles, and a good selection of the most common colors of thread. It also includes a few other items you might need for repairs or crafts. Everything in the kit looks to be of decent quality, and I feel confident that any leather I sew together with this kit will stay together for a long time. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a carrying case or bag, so I have to store it in the corrugated box it came in. I am still very happy with this kit though.

I started collecting pieces of leather across my travels and have a nice pile of bits i want to make knife sheaths and flashlight holder and belt accessories but never got around to it. Really glad i finally got a kit to do a little tooling and having enough thread makes it worth while. I got a new hobby on the weekends and something to do while listening to the ball game. I have to watch a few videos on how to thread and use the punch as it doesn't have any instructions but I am already printing out stencils and have ordered some Glue so I am almost ready. Glad I got this kit.
