These work great if used as intended. Don’t hit them with a hammer ever. I did once and it broke immediately.

This leather sewing kit offers a wide array of tools, including quality needles for leather and canvas work, along with brass-handled awls featuring steel central shafts and chuck mandrels. While the needles are reliable, the brass awl has notable drawbacks. A steel protrusion at the base of the threaded shaft, likely a leftover from milling, makes tightening the chuck cumbersome (I had to file it down for that reason).Furthermore, the awl’s back is constructed from a hoop-and-cap assembly rather than a single solid piece, reducing durability and complicating the tightening process. The lack of textured surfaces on both the cap and body adds to the difficulty. To address these issues, I applied red grease to the moving parts and threads, which improved performance.Despite these flaws, the kit's variety and affordability make it a reasonable option for beginners if you are willing to dress up the tools before using them.
