I would give 5 stars for the quality of the fan itself. Unfortunately the stars go downhill from there. My contractor, who by the way has installed a couple of hundred bathroom exhaust fans both residential and commercial, picked this fan for me. One very important factor was that the new fan be very quiet which a fan rated at 0.5 sones should be. This fan is louder than what 0.5 sones should be and certainly not “ultra quiet” or “barely audible sound level” as it claims (even after installing new 6” insulated ductwork as recommended). Another factor was a fan with an easy install for a retrofit situation. Not so much with this product. To top that off the install instructions that accompany the fan are misleading, confusing and in some cases wrong. This particular issue caused the fan to take twice as long to install which cost me twice as much. So if you want a good quality product, that is louder than it should be and will take twice as long to install, this fan is for you.

Arrived damaged. Seller sent a replacement part very quickly. After a day of fighting with it I gave up. No matter what I did the fan rubbed on the housing.. it’s fine outside of the metal housing, but as soon as I put it back in the fan rubs making a horrible noise. Now I have a huge hole in my ceiling and I’m forced to go to a big name box store for a better product which is what I should have done in the first place. I really need to stop trying to save a few bucks here on Amazon.

Installed three of these in my house and they have worked great for over a year now. They are extremely quiet especially for a 120cfm unit - I went on the roof to check the outflow from the fan unit - I was shocked how powerful the air moving out of the vent pipe was. highly recommend this product.

I love how quiet and powerful this fan is. The only issue, which was resolved with a saw, is that the fan is larger than the standard builder quality fan that was in our bathrooms, Because of this the install was a little more difficult than I had hoped.

This bath fan completely eliminated the moisture problem I had in the bathroom. I have a moderately sized bathroom (6x10) and it would completely fog up whenever taking a shower. This caused mold spots on the ceiling and probably had a lot to do with the particle board vanity deteriorating. So I replaced the cheap builder grade and ridiculously loud Broan fan with this Kaze 120 EZ fan. The noise level was reduced about 90 percent. It is designed so you can install without going into the attic. This is true as long as you have a 4 or 6 inch exhaust line. If your line is too small ( mine was 3 inch) you'll have to replace your exhaust line in the attic. I replaced it because 3 inch is too small anyway. If you're not an experienced handy person with tools, I would recommend hiring someone to install it for you. If you decide to install it yourself, study the instructions carefully and you can do it. I did it and saved a lot of money. Also, the Kaze support people are very helpful and will respond quickly if you have any questions or problems. I used them and was very impressed with the quick response. If you have condensation problems in the bathroom, this fan will solve them.

Needed to replace a 20+ year-old builder POC that was installed when the house was built. It was half the CFM that the bathroom required, so the Kaze 150 CFM was a much-needed upgrade.Let's start with the good: This unit is super quiet - the only thing you'll hear is the sound of the air moving. Anyone who is indicating otherwise, I'd now be a bit suspicious of. The housing and components seem to be well made, the fan is a well-built squirrel cage, and I can confirm both the mounting wings and the 6" duct vent easily remove and reattach. The wiring house is easy to work with. The cardboard shipping box comes with a template you can use to trace onto your ceiling - to ensure you have the right sized opening in your drywall. The plastic vent cover is oversized compared with the fan box and easily covers any wallboard gaps. Once installed, this unit does it's job, and it does it well. I now experience at least 3/4 less the humidity I had prior. Here's what you need to watch out for - what size is your house's bathroom exhaust ducting? Mine is 3" - so I had to buy a 6" to 3" duct reducer - not a huge deal. Do you have attic access? If you don't - forget about this unit - it's not intended to be installed from within the room below. You cannot attach the wings and the exhaust damper and expect to get the unit through the hole in your ceiling, without enlarging that hole beyond the size of the plastic vent cover. My unit didn't come with wire nuts - not a huge deal for me, but if you don't already have bag full of them in your toolbox, you'll want to order some - you'll need three. There you have it. It's a good unit in my opinion. Good luck!

These fans are great, very, very quiet. I have installed 3 in my home. The noise level is low, low, but you can still hear it. The noise level is much lower than the fans I removed. With the shower running, you can barely hear the fan start and that is only if you really concentrate and listen very carefully. I. did learn one thing with the installation. The exhaust duct has an effect on the noise level. If one tries to use smaller duct it will increase the noise level. Use the largest possible. I used 6 inch duct and had excellent results.
