So this fan is super easy to install (you really don't need an electrician for this) good enough noise to block out those awkward sounds, and has been working great for the past month. When my old fan broke it reminded me how much I miss the sound when sitting in the toilet, also made me realize how much I needed the air to be sucked out. Thank you for making my bathroom liveable.

The Broan-NuTone 688E is a quiet and efficient bathroom exhaust fan, earning its Energy Star rating. Its 50 CFM airflow is suitable for smaller bathrooms, effectively removing moisture and odors. Installation is generally straightforward, and the low sone rating (2.0) makes it pleasantly quiet during operation. While basic, it's a reliable choice for those seeking a cost-effective and efficient bathroom fan.

My 25 year old broan 50CFM 4.0 was failing, so it was time to replace. I made sure this one fit into the existing housing, so installation was a breeze. It really is a lot quieter at 2.0, if you use the fan to cover the sound of you taking a dump you might want to go louder. But I prefer a quieter fan. Apparently it is more energy efficient as well while still pulling out the same air, but I could find no information as to power usage. i've had this for some months now and no issues at all. If I had to complain, it looks like the new cover design may restrict airflow a bit, but at only 50CFM, its likely not.

I was very disappointed to find out that I needed to spend an extra £200 to purchase 2 step-up converters. There is nothing in the description or on the packaging to clearly articulate the fact that the fans are not suitable for the UK.Unfortunately I had to wait until my electrician was available to install the fans - which took place a few days outside the refund window. Now I am stuck with two fans that I can't use. Wasted money.I contacted customer service and they have ignored me after offering to reimburse me.Very dissatisfied customer.

Our house was built in 1989 and has 3 bathrooms with ventilation fans. I highly suspect those fans have NEVER been replaced. I looked at the fan cover and saw the name brand "Broan" and took a chance ordering this replacement fan. It worked like a charm!I removed the fan from the outside housing and only installed the internal fan. I removed the old fan in the master bath that had gotten severely clogged and rusted and refused to turn anymore. The outside housing in the ceiling is severely rusted, but still holding well. Replacing the entire unit would involve a full bathroom reno, which we aren't ready to do just yet. I vacuumed out all the dust and installed the new fan inside the previous fan's housing. It was simple, easy to do, doesn't even involved shutting off the power to the bathroom, and worked like a charm. It fits perfectly, and we have a working bathroom fan again!I ordered two more to replace the fans in every bathroom.

This bathroom fan works well and runs pretty quietly. Installation was straightforward, though I think it would’ve been nice if the cover was a little larger. It’s not smaller than my previous unit’s cover, but a bit more size would’ve helped fully cover the edges of the opening. That said, it moves air efficiently, and the noise level is low enough not to be annoying. Overall, it’s a solid replacement that works as expected. Just a heads-up if you’re working with a less-than-perfectly-cut opening—you might want to double-check the dimensions.

The fan was easy to install and moves a lot air but that comes with a slightly higher noise level. The noise level is not quiet but not obnoxious either.

Excellent product, it’s a exhaust ventilation fan.Only problem I’m returning this is it works on 110v as it come from USA & I don’t have space to keep voltage step down transformer from 220v to 110v.

We installed this in the bathroom wall and installation (with the kit) was pretty easy. It does make a bit of noise, but it's not loud or an annoying noise; it sounds like a regular fan on high. Some other reviewers have said it's extremely noisy, but maybe it's where it was installed that's causing more noise, as this model can be used on either a wall or ceiling. It works really well to vent the steam from showers. We switch it on when we go in, and leave it on for a few minutes after we get out. The mirror clears up within a couple of minutes. The product info listed here mentions two sone levels, but this model is 6 sones according to the Broan website.
