About this item

  • MADE IN AMERICA - Support American jobs, American infrastructure and American FAMILIES - While everyone else has outsourced to China, we are one of the ONLY companies that still makes our fabric in America. We've been written up by Fox, Daily Herald, MarketWatch and other news outlets for leading the industry with our American made fabric
  • BUILT TOUGH - Made with Industrial Grade 8oz Non-Woven Polypropylene, this Sandbaggy Fabric is the toughest in its class and is rated for 205 lbs of tensile strength. This is TWO TIMES thicker than standard fabrics.
  • GREAT FOR MANY APPLICATIONS - This Sandbaggy Fabric has so many uses such as Farming/Gardening, Landscaping, Road Stabilization, Drainage Installations, Rip Rap & Retaining Walls, & placing under Geocell.
  • 50+ YEAR FABRIC - FLEXIBLE & SOFT - The fabric is engineered to last 50+ yrs (*depends on site conditions) if buried properly with at least 3 inches of gravel or mulch. However, if the fabric is exposed to the Sun, the lifespan drops as low as 1 year. In addition, unlike standard woven fabrics that are rigid, Sandbaggy Non-Woven Filter Fabric is flexible and easily conforms to uneven surfaces.
  • BEST FLOW RATES / IMPROVES DRAINAGE - This fabric boasts some of the best flow rates with 140 GPM per square ft meaning better drainage and flow-through while being extremely strong! This Sandbaggy Fabric helps prevent clogging, extends drainage system life and performance and is great for french drains, trench drains and blanket drains.
  • EROSION PROTECTION - With rising sea levels and intensity of storms increasing by the year, you need a product to help reduce erosion on your waterfront property. Sandbaggy 8 oz Non Woven Fabric is the protection you need. This thick fabric absorbs and dissipates wave velocity so the underlying rock or sand is protected.

Common FAQs

What is Non-Woven Geotextile Fabric used for?

Non-Woven Geotextile Fabric is used for many applications including farming/gardening, french drains, landscaping, road stabilization, drainage installations, rip rap, retaining walls, and volleyball court construction.

Woven vs non woven geotextile? Which is better woven or nonwoven geotextile?

Nonwoven Geotextile - because nonwoven provides superior strength as well as water permeability (at least 100 GPM per sq ft). Meanwhile, woven fabric only provides superior strength but very little water permeability. We sell both types of fabric because woven fabric is more economical compared with nonwoven fabric.

What is nonwoven geotextile?

A Nonwoven Geotextile is a soft & thick felt like material that is made from millions of polypropylene fibers. Sandbaggy Non Woven goes through our proprietary manufacturing process that transforms millions of loose polypropylene fibers into strong and flexible nonwoven geotextile.

Does geotextile fabric let water through?

Only Non Woven Geotextile Fabric allows water to go through the fabric. Other Geotextile fabrics do not. Sandbaggy Non Woven Geotextiles allows 100 gallons per minute of flow-through every square foot of the material! Woven Geotextiles do not though.

Can this product be placed under Geocell?

Yes, 8 oz non woven geotextile fabrics are ideal to use under geocells to provide additional support and stability to the structure.

Good thick fabric cover but also allows water to drain.

I can see this lasting 20 years through the outside weather and all the seasons. Maybe longer. The sharp long staples were a challenge to even puncture this stuff. Easy to cut with scissors. No weeds coming thru ever again. Made in USA

Worked great. Used it in a dog run area under the gravel. Love it, nice and thick, but easy to cut. Drains well

on first glance this seems to be the toughest weed barrier i’ve ever seen. it appears to be almost bulletproof. if you are going to use barrier staples sharpen them to a fine point or use an awl to create the holes for the staples. it should last a lifetime.

I wasn't sure at first this would be worth paying the extra money but boy was I mistaken. This stuff is awesome. Its thick like it says, but also water permeable. It has held up great while we work on our backyard. Some of it was exposed to the elements longer than we intended and it still held up like a champ. We are very impressed with this and proud to support a USA made product! Definitely worth the extra.

I've only just installed this , but so far, I'm impressed. It's a nice, thick, sturdy, felt-like fabric that certainly looks like it will do the job and be long-lasting. The only slight niggles I have with it are regarding the packaging. First, I ordered some of their 6" landscaping staples with this fabric. Instead of shipping them in a box of their own, they just taped them to the roll of fabric in that box. I was expecting a separate box, didn't see them during my cursory inspection of the fabric and had to ask them about them. So, that was a bit of angst I didn't need. But, the company was very responsive when I asked about it. Second, the fabric wasn't rolled up in the way I expected (fold it in half so it would fit in a box and then roll it all up). So, when I unrolled it, I ended up causing a tangle that took me a while to clear up (100 x 10 feet of fabric is a tad bulky to maneuver). Perhaps a note somewhere in the package about how best to unroll the fabric would be nice. Anyway, those are trivial issues and I'm very happy with the product. I'm rating it at a Very Good 4 stars out of 5.

Amazing, tough Landscape Fabric. It was very hard to push landscape staples through this fabric. It was also hard to cut with sissors. We are using this on the face of a hill before installing a retaining wall. It will without a doubt retain the soil and rocks. Well worth the extra cost.

I purchased a roll of the 8 oz. geotextile non-woven. This ain't your daddy's landscape fabric. This stuff is thick. It makes the junk you find at the big box stores look like tissue paper. It is just as pliable, and water passes thru it like crazy. It's hard to believe that something this thick and dense can still allow the passage of liquid so readily. We used it for a base for rock and plantings around the house. We could not be more pleased with the results.-Shipping is lightening fast. Don't blink.-I ran into an issue with another order for more fabric. I contacted Sandbaggy customer service and the reply was super prompt, and the resolution to my issue was just as prompt and satisfying. This is the stuff that great companies are made of!
