Refractometer for seawater and marine fishkeeping aquarium 0-100 ppt
Details :
This optical refractometer (salinity meter) has scales in the range of 0 - 100 ppt(0 - 10 %). The reading
resolution is 1 ppt. It is designed for the measurement of seawater (marine aquaria) or very low concentrated salt solutions.
The second scale is for reading of the salt solution density in range 1.000 to 1.070 g/cm3 (resolution 0.001 g/cm3).
The usual salinity of the selected aqueous solutions
1.Fresh water --- 2.Brackish water---0.5 to 30 ppt
3.Saline water (Seawater)---30 to 50 ppt
4.Brine---> 50 ppt
(Salinity 36 ppt means, that there are 36 grams of salt in 1 liter aqueous solution.)
Measurement:
The liquid measurement is very easy. Place a few drops of the liquid on the optical part of the refractometer,
cover the prism (the liquid will spread more easily over
the prism), look throught the eyepiece against the light (focus, if necessary)
and you will be able to read the result value on the scale.

The meter is very inaccurate. It measures only pure salt solution samples brix that too with 1% inaccuracy. Salt content in other juices, spice pastes, pickles cannot be measured even after dilutiuon

Worked like all others pretty good. The flip lid is a little bit flimsy but it does the job. They are all a lil tricky to read so I can’t fault that aspect. Let’s see how long it will hold up though.

I’m relatively new to saltwater fish keeping. Purchased this when starting out and have had no issues. Appears to be accurate and easy to use. Easy to calibrate and easy to read scale when aiming it towards a light. Would purchase again

I work in a specialty aquarium store and use refractometers on a daily basis I also sell very similar products to this. After I initially unboxed and calibrated it I used it on multiple tanks both Marine and salted freshwater in a variety of salinities. It is accurate and easy to read. Very straight forward operation. It is of good quality and has a nice carrying case. This product is a Great value!

Hard to tell the difference between this and the more expensive one I have from brs. Both read and seems to have the same precision. Looks the same other than the weight.This one actually shows a crispier image, but that may just be dirt in the other one. Its impressive that for such a low price it still comes with a case, a mini screw drive to calibrate and drop counters.And I strongly recommend a calibration fluid no matter what refractometer you buy.
