I had a 696N "B-Unit" vent in my bathroom. This product is exactly what I needed to replace the old one that stopped working.It took me 5 minutes to swap it out and get it working again.It's a bit louder than I remember, but that doesn't bother me.

We have an old bath fan that was squealing and groaning and eventually locked up. Cleaning and lubing the motor helped get another year out of it, but it started making horrid noises again. This motor/fan assembly fit exactly like the original and now it works like new again. Took off one star because buying the whole fan and using the fan/motor part currently costs significantly less.This unit claims to be quieter at 2 sones but it still sounds about the same loudness as the original 4 sones unit used to as far as I can recall, and this is louder than we recently installed that is rated 2 sones. Regardless, this works great and the bathroom is more peaceful again.
