I love this thing. As a person who can’t keep plants alive even if they are fake, this is incredible to have.I only have a few plants in my house and I often either over water or under. The system works well with one or multiple sensors and displays exactly what I need to know to keep my plants alive and healthy. Until my cat eats them that is. (I only have APCA approved plants indoors.)If you’re like me, and you struggle to know how much water is too much, this system helps.

It's not directly a problem with the product, but if you put four of these in one pot you get four very different readings. The moisture in the soil varies considerably and you cannot rely on one single point. I find I need to check the pot with a moisture meter regardless of using these things, making them pretty much useless. With lots of false alarms trying to egg you into overwatering your plants, I'm sending them back.

This system is nicely designed with a solid look and feel and ease of use. Complete with all the batteries, markers for your plants, even a couple wall anchors and screws to mount the panel. I enjoyed setting up the 4 sensors, marking and pairing them with the Display Panel, all went very smoothly with the included instructions. And it functions well, the readings are immediate and consistent. The sensors are very sensitive and VERY specific as they take their moisure readings at the tip of the sensor only. I had to practice a bit with the sensor placement to learn how to work with them and understand what they're telling me and can now target very specific zone and depth with these.

Firstly I'm far from a keen gardener, but here's my story - I've just moved into a new home that has amazing landscape garden and groomed bushes which must have cost a fortune. Fast forward me becoming the new owner I've been seeing them slowly turn yellow and I had no clue why. So I thought I'd invest in some way to monitor them, and being a techie guy I wanted something "smart".Well after some intense research I couldn't find anything truly "smart" where I could connect from my phone, so I deceived to give this product a try. Super simple to set up and within minutes it turns out my all my bushes were totally dehydrated! Now I can monitor 6 zones with temperature, moisture and sunlight!

Not sure why, but range seems to be 57 to 63%. When watering and its really wet, I see above 70%, but only for s few minutes, and quickly drops to 65%. Days later when soil feels dry, it is still reading 57%. My other needle based meter reads dry, 35%, so not sure I fully trust this gadget. But it allows me glimpse what the outside soil of a new tree is doing.

This product was easy to sync and install. Good quality, I only had it for a couple of weeks and it works as described.

There's a lot of potential for these probes, but they are simply too inaccurate. I had suspected for a little bit that they were not accurate, and over the past week I put two probes into the exact same pot. They tend to read between 15% and 25% different from each other, regardless of the fact that they're mere inches away in the same pot.On the positive side, the setup is very easy, and the battery life seems very good. It's just to bad they fail at their primary job.

novice gardener here, needed something to aid in watering my plants. i have 1 plant in ground and others are potted but stay outside. this system is very easy to setup and comes with 4 sensors. you can have a total of 6 sensors (the other two are sold seperately). simply place in the ground close to the roots of your plant and water. you will see a meter 0 percent to 100 percent. when the moisture level drops to 10 percent, the icon will flash and warn you to water the affected plant. had this for about 2 weeeks and my plants are doing well. this is especially useful if you have alot of clay in your soil. my soil is mostly clay, and recent hot and humid weather has me watering every 2 days or so. my flowers are growing really well and i can't see any symptoms of overwatering. the only con (so far) is that when direct sunlight hit's the sensor, it reads 10-15 degrees above the acutal temprature. out of direct sunlight, the temprature is spot on. if your a novice like me, this device is worth the money. works for indoor and outdoor plants as well. go ahead and order this. your plants will thank you.I did use lithium battries, instead of alkaline ones included, you pay a little more for the lithium but they aren't as suspectible to dying in cold tempratures. not required, but nice to have/use.

I grow Dahlias and wanted to make sure I knew when they had enough watering. so I bought this item with 4 moisture meters. We have 95 degree weather here so watering is important but also didn't want the plants to have soggy soil because they could rot. I took a reading on first day and it all shows between 60 and 70% moisture. No watering done but we were on the third day of 95 degrees. Took the reading again and it still shows the same reading 60 to 70% moisture. To make sure, I took the batteries out of the four moisture meters/prone. To my amazement, even though they had no batteries, they still show 60 to 70% moisture. no matter what I did, remove all the batteries from main reader unit, wait a day or so, then turn the main reader on again with no batteries in the moisture meters and still 60 70% moisture. This Reyke Soil moisture Reader is pure junk and cost over $50. Don't buy it you'll waste your money.

Be forewarned - this uses the same frequencies as the sensors for Simplisafe home security. As soon as I put batteries in a soil sensor, Simplisafe complained that there was interference with its own sensors, and could not detect intrusions. This went away as soon as I removed the soil sensor battery. This potential for interference made using this a non-starter.That said; the sensor and display were well packaged, and the setup was straightforward. I can't say how accurate they may or may not have been.

These are additional moisture probes for use if you have already purchased the moisture meter that comes with one probe. I now have three probes that I can monitor the moisture, light and temperature of my plants. I use these in my greenhouse so my plants do not go dry without me noticing. I use these probes along with a digital thermometer, this item lets me know that the soil is 2 degrees warmer then the air in my greenhouse. The digital monitor details give you the light, moisture, time, temperature and the number of the probe. You just click the arrow to check each probe values. It comes with stickers to label each probe.
