I let it sit in water and it got to the middle “moist” point so that’s the maximum. I stuck it in an orchid plant with ice cubes. It moved a little but registered as dry the next day. Returning

Received today and went through all my plants, this will absolutely help with a couple that seem to be struggling, seems ive overwatered them. This is a great buy nothing fancy just lets me know whether to water or not. As it says on the box you DONT put this in water. As the product description says it's for SOIL moisture not water moisture. Highly recommend.

At first these were great and read accurately. After a month the meter read dry so I watered my I've and it immediately flooded. Then the meter only read moist. So I tested the meters on water. The meters read just above dry. Be careful you rely on these you might over water your plants.

Update: I reached out to the seller who suggested sand papering the ends. I tried this and it did help it become a bit more accurate. This isn't something I'd wholly rely on to determine the moisture level of plants, but it may work for quick checks between watering. Also, the seller refunded my purchase without my asking. I did not expect that, but it was nice.Original reciew: Regardless of testing wet or dry soil, the meter shoots up to wet and then goes back down to dry. I tried messaging the seller. Will update if I get a response, or just return.

I have a ton of house plants. The poor things have suffered in the past due to my either watering too frequently, or not frequently enough. These meters are very helpful with tracking the correct time to water. My plants are much happier now!

They say to use chopsticks, stick it in the ground, and if it comes out clean, then the soil is dry enough for you to water again. However, if you want a more accurate measure, these work great!
