Seller did replace unit at no charge however the rfid does not work in both units. Tried multiple brands of 13.56mhz and 125khz cards, all with no response from eother units. Suspect it is the metal casing or that it doesn't have rfid reader at all. Works as a keypad, but disappointed the card feature does not.

Not hard to install. Note the tips in the reviews about programming and which cards work.Totally perfect for over four years, then started randomly opening the gate, and finally is just freaking out. No amount of resetting or rewiring had any effect. The keypad itself is still like new, despite being outside in the Socal direct sunlight the entire time.I guess I'm buying another one...

These were as easy to install as any other but our intel was not simple as we were using a central controller Axis 1001a with a Synology NAS for a central hub. The hardest part as far as this product was the last step of a set screw on the bottom of the key pad being difficult to install because it is right net to the door or wall making it difficult to get a screwdriver aligned with the screw and hole. We had to use a very long procession screwdriver with extension bits to tighten these. In the end it has been a very good product and excellent durability is expected because of the heavy metal and tightly machined parts that fit really well to protect from weather.

This Units works great. I watched a couple of Youtube Videos which helped a lot. I recommend setting it up on a table before you install the Unit on a door. The wiring was a little complicated, but after watching the youtube video it was much easier. The Master code for my unit was Six Nines - (999999). Once we had the right Master Code the programming of Pin Numbers and ID cards were very easy. Please Note, after the User enters their 4 digit pin Number you must press # to unlock. Its also nice if the Power goes out, all of the pin numbers stay in memory. I do recommend this Key Pad.

I am building projects that use these that are out in the weather and these are GREAT! The value for the money is sweet. These are potted in with epoxy so that water can't get in and the back lighting is adequate for use in the dark. They work well with push button codes or RFID cards or chips.

4.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't workBy J. Hahn on March 14, 2017Verified PurchaseNote: This started out as a 1 star review and would have been no stars if that option would have been available, read on for detailsI have two of these units, one from another vendor but same unit with same instructions, and can't get either one to work and I'm beginning to wonder if any of these positive reviews are legit.I have been in email contact with one of the vendors and was told to not hit the * key after data entry but to hit the # instead but in every instance it appears to enter the programming mode but it will not read a card, nor accept a card number or a pin number. In every instance when you exit the programming mode, you hear "DIDiDi" which means that the programming failed plus the red light will start blinking and there is no response from the card reader. There has been mention of a more complete set of instructions available as a .pdf but all the links take me to pages with one line of hanzi and a few numbers, like a header of some sort, and no instructions. If folks are really getting these to work, and I really want it to as it would be perfect for my application, then I'm missing something but I don't know what. Very frustrating. There is no phone support that I can see and it is slow going through Amazon with email.Theoretically these work with either 125 Khz or 13.5 Mhz (or whatever they are) cards but there is no mention of a setting to change between the two so don't know if it can read either at all times or if a setting needs to be made. Either way that is probably not the root of the problems I'm having but it would be nice to be sure.If anyone can be of any assistance, or can suggest a unit that does work, I would appreciate it as these are going back soon unless I can figure out how to make them work.By the way Amazon, your question section sucks. If you're going to limit the number of characters that can be used to post a question at least tell us how many we get to use and put a countdown on it so we don't have to keep reframing our question to make it fit an unknown space. If I ever get these to work I'll post more.03/15/17And I'm back. After much searching across the web I found a cryptic clue and after I thought about what it really meant I am now able to get PIN #'s to work. It states in the instructions that "the ID number can be any number from 1 to 2,000 and the PIN # needs to be a four digit number from 1 to 9999. It does not state it but the ID number needs to be in a 4 digit format which means that you can use the number 1 as an ID number but it needs to be entered as 0001. I may be too literal sometimes but to me "any number from 1 to 2,000" means I can use the number 1 all by itself.I'm trying to get the card reader portion to work with our existing Door King rfid cards so members would only need 1 card to access the entire facility but now I'm wondering if there is something about them that prevents them from working with this unit so I've ordered some Sain Smart 125 Khz cards to see if they work. In the comment section for these cards some one said they were using them with this unit so they should work. Hopefully that will be the answer to the conundrum I've been facing.I'm bumping up to two stars for now. If the new cards do work I'll go up some more.3/25/17I got this unit working a couple of days ago and the solution was to use "Sain Smart" brand key cards. Even though our existing Door King key cards are 125 Khz cards they do not work with this unit at all. Possibly some kind of encryption of some sort for some reason. So, the unit does work well now that I know that a.) ID numbers as well as pin numbers must be in a four digit format, and b.) that you must use a "Sain Smart" ,or something similar, brand key card . Just because your existing cards are 125 Khz does not mean that they will work for certain. And c.) that the red light flashing means it is ready to be used not that it is having some kind of a problem which is what I assumed as the flashing red light was not addressed in the chart of "light codes". Basically the unit works fine but their instructions need some clarification, and it would also be nice if there was a good set available online. The unit works fine so I'm bumping up to four stars but it would be 5 if the instructions had been more clear to me.Joe
