What you'll need for this is better instructions from the manufacturer, either that or you'll need to hire an electrician who knows what he or she is doing. This is a very well-made item hefty metal box with fobs for easy access. It's a "pro" item that if you use it for your home will be a very nice addition. If the manufacturer could post a video of the installation of this box using a garage door opener that would be the best thing they could do. That would get the 5 stars, but I contacted them and asked for a video but they sent me a pdf of the same booklet that came with the keypad.

I'm using this keypad to interrupt the power on a 350# magnetic door lock on our solar shed. This is primarily to make sure no kids or random folks wander into it give it's our 'power' station essentially. It works great. The install is simple to setup, I was able to easily mount it outside next to the door and run the line in to connect to the power as well as the door lock. The keypad can be used as an interrupt so that it normally lets the power continue to the magnet but when you unlock it this disables for a short bit so you can open the door. If I need to disable the lock for a time I have a rocker switch inside the door that I can turn cut the power to the lock.I like that I can put in a couple codes (in case I forget one) and it also works with a fob so we can just have the fob on our keys and in we go in a hurry.Overall great addition to add a bit of security without adding too much complexity.

Easy to install and program but you will need a striker lock or magnet lock to control the door. I just used punch code and skipped the key fobs. When inside I put a hidden light switch to interrupt the 12 volt signal to leave door unlocked....end of the day, flip switch to reconnect power and the door locks for the night.
