I was serching a reader to develop software over Desfire cards, I tought that I could used this reader, but this device detects a card and automatic sends to computer its UID, but it does not accept APDU commands. Then is no clear for my what it is a posssible use of this reader.

I bought this as a test unit before ultimately ordering another brand for a project at work. Like the description says, and it's silk screened on the reader too, this seems to be Windows-only. It was not recognized by two different Mac computers. It emulates a HID keyboard device, so I'm not sure why it would make a difference. The read range is slightly less than anticipated and it had trouble reading a couple Mifare classic tags that another brand reader had no problem with. You'll notice a sea of lookalikes on Amazon, but they have subtle differences. This reader was also slightly larger than the others I wound up purchasing.
